We were looking for dinner restaurant in Port St. Joe and nearly everything was closed that evening so somebody told us Provisions was open. The snapper we ordered was great (far better than a lot of dedicated "seafood" restaurants) and the service was excellent. Definitely glad we discovered this place.
I ordered a dish with Jumbo Shrimp and angel pasta, and broccoli side, $25. The food/plate presentation was very good. The pasta was nicely seasoned including lots of capers which I like. The shrimp tasted strong, and the two broccoli florets were served plain, ie: no butter or seasoning at all. Less than perfect but I still enjoyed the meal so I rated it a 4.
Quality food, service was slow. Prices are a bit high for what you get. The other people in my party ordered “petite” size portions. I however wanted a full meal, and thought that the Manhattan Mack and Cheese was a full size portion, because it didn’t specify, only had one price, $13. Well, it came and was the same size as the other meals. I could’ve stayed home and had Mac N Cheese for $1.50. On a bright note while we were walking around afterwards we came across Smiley’s Fried Chicken. Some of the best chicken I’ve ever had.
I love coming here with my boyfriend. Sitting outside in the evening is so peaceful and Brad the waiter is very sweet. I’m obsessed with their basil pesto pasta. Will definitely be back again and again and again.
Just came back for my birthday dinner. Brandy was the nicest waitress and even remembered what I like to order. Again I couldn’t be happier with the service here. Can’t wait to be back again.
Great Food, fantastic staff!!! We had the pleasure of dining here this past week. WOW Great food, super selection and prices were good for the quality.Lots of options for anyone. The owner was so great and he worked VERY hard to make sure all was taken care of. We were a party of 10 and there was no problem. Definitely will return next time we are in the area!!!
I work downtown. I needed a snack. Fries seem like a good, greasy, slightly seasoned and salted snack. Call up provisions. Everybody says they're the best in town. Get my fries. Lady says $7. I think to myself "That's okay because these are gonna be the best fries in town, Florida, hell the entire south."
I get back to work. I open my box of fried starch and plant cellulose and you know what? I'm shocked. There's a much smaller portion than was expected. No matter. I am on a one way trip to slightly seasoned and salty, fried goodness town.
I grab what I'm expecting to be a piece of potato that would be hotter that the surface of the sun and probably melt my oral tissue like the Nazi guys face on Indiana Jones and the last crusade. Instead I get a piece of dry, warm, air wrapped in a brown, potatoes like, box.
So two things. I was a soldier for many years, when I left I worked in a few kitchens. Now I do this weird thing where I count people in rooms. Today I counted 13. 3 employees, 3 children, 4 adults and 3 more adults outside. Two tables had food already on them. So I'm lead to believe that there's not a stack of tickets on that line in the back. So that being said there's one of two things that happened here. These little potato flavored air sticks were either sat under a heat lamp from lunch or double dipped in a fryer. Either way I weighed these pathetic excuses for potatoes and it came out to 10.3oz. So I got just better than a half pound of warm air for $7.
Now there's not very many options for food here in the Joe. So inevitably I will be returning for another order of the "the best food in town" and I should certainly hope that you guys have your French fried potato game wired right.
Spectacular food. We had the filet mignon, southern girl salad and spaghetti. All tasted great, the wine was delicious, the owner(manager?) offered to chill it for us. Excellent. There was a bit of initial delay with getting service but anything after that was great. Definitely recommended !
Anything and everything is GREAT!!! Servicefoodatmosphere
Everything and everyone are super. Prices are great. The Chief"s way with spices..etc..makes each dish better than any dish you have had else where. Everyday there is a different special for lunch.
We went there for breakfast and was seated by a young man. He told us the server would be right with us after he served our drinks. The server came over to tell us the specials and left. Ten minutes later she came back over to show us her plate of breakfast and sat down to eat her food. We still had not had our order taken. Another lady ended up taking our order and brought our food out. The food was great. Just terrible service. The first server then asked one of us if she did something wrong because she thought she didn't get a tip. Terrible terrible server.
We've been doing a trip to Port St Joe for a few years now and always come here for a good dinner. The food is great and the prices are average. You don't usually need a reservation.
Amazing upscale dinning experience! The food and drink options were way above par! I'll definitely be returning
Great food and excellent service. Menu and variations very good and cost reasonable. We ate there two nights on the trot and both meals were excellent.
Great food. On many dishes you can select a small portion which is nice. Definitely get the bruchetta. The bread is amazing! Their white sangria was awesome and came in a big glass. Will be back for their happy hour deals for sure! The outside seating is dog friendly and covered so is shady and protected from wind and rain. Just a few tables outside. Inside is very nice.
Outstanding creations in a great setting with a nice ambiance. Fantastic salads, pastas and seafood creations. St Joe saute' is really delicious, as well as everything else we have had here! Georgia Girl Greens salad is one of my all time favorites. Most dishes can be ordered in 2 sizes, which is really nice, because a full order can be way too much food. They have a nice covered courtyard that is pet-friendly, and the staff is fantastic, especially Toya.
All together the food was amazing, the service was excellent! The Chimichuri steak is awesome! Defiantly family friendly! All together an amazing experience!
Just added this restaurant to our list of places to eat when we're in Port St Joe. Another case of great service and good food. Nice interior, relaxed.
My wife and I stopped in to Provisions on Monday for lunch. This was our first trip there and the food was excellent, service was great and everyone there greeted us as if they new us. I highly recommend Provisions for great food and service.
I had a great meal here. Seared Ahi Tuna, St Joe Saute, triple layer chocolate cake. Live music and soft lights made the ambiance wonderful. Good date spot. Only complaint I had was the spotty service. There was a wedding dinner going on and servers seemed stretched thin. Didn't dock a star because I'm sure it wouldn't be a regular thing.
Provisions is one of our favorite places in downtown Port St. Joe, and one that I always recommend to visitors. It has a very diverse menu with lots of soups and salads. I would call it Coastal with a touch of Latin. My favorite dish is the Mediterranean Chop Chop salad with steak. Portions are big enough that we sometimes have to take some home with us. They also have a good beer and wine selection.
