I visited the Grill for dinner during a road trip along the gulf coast.
First, let me say that Apalachicola is beautiful, and I'm incredibly pleased that I decided to spend a night in town.
I picked the Grill for dinner on the basis of my own research and advice from several locals. I visited on a Saturday night around spring break time and was surprised to find the restaurant not very busy. I sat at the counter, where service was fairly attentive.
The menu was mostly fried seafood and a few steaks. The beer and wine selection were both pretty poor. I went for the crab cake and shrimp platter, which was served with cole slaw and hushpuppies. The food was fine. The crab cake was pan fried, and not too breaded, but not especially flavoursome. Shrimp seemed fresh, and the staff claimed they were local, but they were under seasoned. Hushpuppies were too small and overcooked. Cocktail sauce was from a bottle left on the table.
I had Key Lime pie for dessert, which was pretty good, but too tart for my tastes.
All in all, the Grill was just about okay, although if I returned to Apalachicola, I would want to try some of the other local places.
Great little restaurant. Food was excellent and service was as well.
My family loves to eat here. GREAT burgers, and they are huge!! Every time we are in Apalachicola we eat at here.
Very casual and friendly. We were there for lunch and our food was delicious. I got a fish sandwich and my husband got shrimp, yummy!!!The girl that waited on us was so very friendly and it appeared everyone was very helpful. We felt the price was very good and the quality of the food we received was well worth it. First time in the restaurant but for sure not the last. Great job!!!
After ordering Grouper sandwich I received very good tasting blackened and grilled white fish possibly basa.
I enjoyed my meal however, I did ask it could've been swapped with another fish I was asked what kind of grouper I am used to eating.
I love sea food of all types and eat often.
With Blackened Grouper Sandwich being my favorite.
We've been here several times before on vacation and it was always good. Went 3 hrs out of our way just to eat there on this trip. Will not do that again. Ordered their shrimp, scallops, fish plate. So much juice in the greens, the French fries were soaking in it. Batter on everything else was soggy. Talked to the manager and she said that's the way they came. She could have cared less. She said try us again. We will not be back there again. Will no longer recommend it to friends going to the area on vacation and will let our friends who live there know to. Bad way to do business.
Great food and friendly staff! The salmon was awesome. FYI there is a pepper plant on the side of the restaurant..Someone in our group tried one and it was INSANELY hot!
Great food and atmosphere. We eat here every time we go to apalachicola and have never been disappointed. Fried shrimp awesome
The food was absolutely great. We went there for Vacation and I think the resturant was the best experience. Lovely staff and great seafood. Their shrimp sauce is awesome!
Best fried shrimp I've had in a long time! Not too much breading and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. Service was friendly and professional. Highly recommend!
We are here this past weekend!! Food and service were great!! Loved that they don't fry their oysters in the same grease as their fries or chicken. My daughter having an allergy to oysters this was awesome and it's hard to find a place that doesn't . Keep up the good work. We will be back!
Food was great portion good but now sandwiches are big as they come service good and fast. Some reviews said otherwise. Good over all price medium 12 to 20 range but worth it.
When the sign on the wall says No Pissy Attitude, you should probably realize you need to walk away! wish we had! Food was average, had to send it back once because it wasn't cooked like I asked. On the menu it says if you want extra lemons it's $2.25. Seriously. If you want a little more salad dressing $1.50. My husband's $4.99 side salad was literally served on a bread plate. A wedge of tomato, 2 cucumber slices and about half a handful of lettuce mix.
Went during a busy time of day. After a little bit of a wait, we were seated by super friendly staff. The food was outstanding, and there was a whole lot of it. LOVED THE HOMEMADE RANCH!!!
Very rude. After waiting 45 minutes for the appetizer, we walked out of the restaurant very embarrassing experience the police were called and I was charged 60$ for a 24$ order. Or was threatened to be put in jail. On top of that the restraint was grungy and the service was terrible I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone else.
Awesome. Incredible food. Their home made cocktail sauce is the best!
We visited Florida for a week and this was by far the best meal we had the entire trip, eating out sometimes twice daily. Everything was extremely well seasoned and well prepared. I can say this was the best shrimp I've had in my life. Service was fast, friendly and good. We keep talking about that meal months later!
Try the Coconut Fried Shrimps. Simply great. Else?
Simple location, but really fast service. Get your beer out of the fridge by yourself - the opener is right of the cooler by the door.
Too full off fish. So we had a wonderful, big Greek salad in old section of town. Staff very gracious. Casual. Has bar and you can stop in any time for tea or a beer.
