This place sucks. Bad experience every time. I thought my ankle was broken, they took my shoe off and left my bare foot on the dirty floor and then left me there for like an hour. Then, another time when I drove my grandma to the ER I was inappropriately touched by the lady security guard at the ER who wanted to frisk me to go in with the patient. Then she threatened to have me banned from the hospital when I told her that she was behaving inappropriately. The final straw, after she let me in I was back in the receiving area and they had a patient on a bed in the hallway. The patient was getting louder by the moment, he said his leg was broken and he had been out there for almost three hours and hadn't seen anyone yet. He said he wasn't waiting anymore, he was going to drive himself to another hospital. The same security team was called, and they told him he wasn't going anywhere and to shut his mouth or they'd strap him to the bed. The guy tries to get up on the hurt leg, the two guards beat the piss out of him, slam him back on the bed, get restraints out and strap him to the bed and then get a muzzle thing and muzzle the guy. This place is Detroit AF

I am shocked at how women are treated poorly. non stop ridicule. made a call about a bill and spoke to sonja. I wanted to set up a payment plan and never was able to set up the plan because sonja kept calling me ma'am. I told her to stop calling me that and she went on and on. waited for a manager clarence, clarence never showed up.
went and called someone named Joan. never heard from her either.
everywhere I went, every doctor being called ma'am honey and dear.
constant ridicule and put downs. are men ridiculed when they come in.also talked to joan. not helpful at all. nasty and rude. real nasty about a bill that i had to pay that was about $100. you can not set up a payment plan, even if you are unemployed. she was very nasty about a $100 bill. too bad I had my daughter at this hospital about 20 years ago and it was a good experience but looks like things have changed. I also got a call from someone who claimed they were from this hospital, never gave her name and no one is telling who this is. interesting. I would love to talk to some one who is actually in charge. Joan is not in charge and does not know her job

ER staff and services are terrible. Patients are treated poorly. Staff acts like they are being put out if you need something.

When you are having an emergency where do you go? The ER is the answer, but I wouldn’t recommend this hospital to ANYONE who is in need of medical attention. I wanted to run out of there! The ER nurses at Providence hospital are negligent, uncaring and honestly a disgrace to the medical field. They have no patience and no bedside manners what so ever. My mother sat in an empty ER waiting room after already being admitted for 3 hours, with multiple symptoms that unknowingly could have been life threatening. Proper test were not run on her to ensure what they had “assumed” to be wrong with her was correct. I say that because hours later she has not gotten any better and is sitting in discomfort in a hospital bed with an IV drip that keeps beeping because it was not administered correctly. Any and every thing she asks for takes a minimum of an hour to receive. Yes, I understand that there are other patients in need of care as well, so if the problem is lack of staff, Providence Hospital in Southfield, MI should fix it. Honestly in my heart I feel that it’s not the lack of staff, it’s a lack of dedication and compassion that the ER nurses lack. Let me tell you why…

We encountered two ER nurses the night my mother was admitted. They were the WORST and I mean worst- I wouldn’t wish these two on my enemy in need! I was most disappointed with the charge nurse. She argued with my mother and told her she had an IV drip… when she really didn’t…and after being told a numerous amount of times by my mother (the patient) that she only had a flush, the nurse got smart with her and tried to wave it off as semantics- when she herself had to go figure out the difference between an IV and a flush. Then when my ill mother said, “I thought when coming here I would receive better treatment than another hospital”, the nurse cut her off and said “well you’ll get a survey in the mail and you can feel free to fill it out”. That broke my heart because at that moment my ill mother wasn’t even in her room and was just starting her treatment with Providence. The nurse gave no thought to customer care, and she did not ensure that she was safe and in good hands-EVER. This added stress to her symptoms and did nothing but elevate her temperature.

Now let’s talk about HIPPA…because that was also violated. When I called to check in on the patient before arriving, the charge nurse gave conformation that the patient was in the ER and disclosed medical information about the patient over the phone without even verifying who I was and checking with the patient herself first. This ER not only provides horrible patient care, it also has broken patient privacy laws. I hope Providence will see this and take action to improve their system of care.

Waiting was a little longer than expected but the staff here is always nice to me. I wish I lived closer and I could've gotten a better PCP through Providence. I went here today for ruptured ovarian cysts and they didn't make me feel bad and helped me with being comfortable throughout the ultrasound. Thank you. The night nurse was very nice and he had a GREAT personality

Honestly this hospital just puts in the bare minimum. Came here for my wife's baby delivery and some staff were great but majority are absolutely right off the bat with the security. This is a crapy place to be.

I love this hospital! While pregnant with our first child, I had an ER visit for extreme vomiting/possible dehydration. Nurses and doc were phenomenal. Saw me right away (I was vomiting being wheeled to my room, they were very compassionate to me, as I must have been a pitiful sight) got me the meds I needed, the relief I needed and as soon as the nausea was controlled gave me water and a popsicle. Other hospitals have always made me wait many hours before giving me anything to eat or drink or send me home famished, they were very practical and met my needs. My son was born here, love the midwife team at the ABC & am planning to have our next child here as well. Also get bloodwork here in the lab often, the ladies there are friendly and very skilled. Extremely satisfied with this hospital all around.

The only reason why they get this is because you have to pick at least one star You come in in pain and you wait You get back there and you wait You tell them that your in pain and the make you pee in a cup 1st before the give you pain medication but are really quick to give you a blood pressure pill something you didn't even ask for. The doc thinks that she can feel on you and tell you what's wrong What in the hell happened to ruling things out You don't know by your touch what the hell is going on. Never ever will I ever come back here I will drive six miles out my way to go to place that is professional and that's has compassion.. on top of off that they talk about a mental handicap man who just left Wow hand clap to all the great people who work here. Sad ass hospital sad ass people working here You decide to visit this hospital good luck

My gynecologist sent me here for a laser surgery for vulvar dysplasia. They told me it would be a quick recovery. That's crap, because here I am almost three months later. Very sore and painful urinating and can't barely walk or even shower. They are horrible at getting back to you and basically betray you and you are on your own pretty much. All they are going to do is examine you and make things worse and they won't even give you suggestions on how to handle it or anything, they may give you pain pills that just make you sick and don't work but that's about it. I'm never having this done again I rather fight cancer. I even went to the ER to get help and they couldn't do anything either just do tests on me. Just more pain.

We came here from Fowlerville because my specialist has an office here. Everyone was very kind and they took good care of me. Connie your volunteer in the emergency is an angel. She sat and combed the knots from my hair. I had been so sick I was a mess. My surgery went well and my nurses were always there for pain management or whatever I needed. Thank you. God Bless
