This is the best place in town for selection and staff who really know and care about the animals. The fish selection is amazing, and the insects are really cool too. They'll have everything you need for answers and supplies.

The Best Pet Store Ever! Preuss Pets has been around in Lansing as long as I can remember, and the whole time they have had a fantastically friendly and knowledgeable staff. They have more pets available than any store I've ever been in, and the feed, toys and other things needed to care for them to! Whether you're looking for snakes, tarantulas, parakeets, coral, fish, lizards, etc, this is the place to go. Even if you're not looking to purchase anything, it's worth going just for the experience.

This pet store is quite the shopping experience! They have so many different families of animals. And all of the extra stuff to take care of your pets.
They even have a koi pond in the middle of it. They don't usually have dogs for adoption, but they often have cats (adoption only on certain days though).

This place is a local point of pride. Service is amazing and staff is well educated. A little on the pricey side but you get for what you pay for and the experience I get when shopping there is worth every penny I spend.

This place and the employees were amazing. Outstanding selection and variety. I walked in and was in awe of how many saltwater tanks there were. At first I thought the prices were a little high but walked out with a steal. I can't wait to get everything in my tank. Thank you so much for all of the help and information. I would have bought more was rightfully advised to hold off. I look forward to coming back and buying more in the future.

Great helpful staff, inquired about their classes for beginners. Rick the owner took the time out of a busy Sunday with a store full of customers to go over the basics and answer my questions. Great selection. They are in the middle of that start of some remodeling of their fish department and the store was still nicer then most I've visited.

I like taking my visitors/guests to this store to interact with the tropical birds and view the cool fish. One of my neighbors is part of the Preuss family, and she taught me all sorts of cool things about the business. It has a rich history and is dedicated to contributing positively to the environment. They really care about animal welfare, and offer many services to help keep animals healthy and well, even after they've left the store to your home!

Even if you're not buying this place is so cool to visit. So much to see and learn. Huge selection of fish. Saltwater and fresh. Display tanks are fabulous. They have birds, pond fish, reptiles and every supply you could need. They are exceptionally knowledgeable in all areas. We enjoy going here monthly.

My favorite pet store! I used to think this was a park when I was a child. The pets available are all friendly, hand raised, and adorable! The fish selection is so large you would think you're in an aquarium. The decor and displays are amazing. Love this place!

Nice place, good selection, overpriced on some things but good prices on most things. Solid selection of coral including a good variety of SPS. Massive dry goods selection. Also has a very interesting used aquatic equipment selection with everything from HOB power filters to a calcium reactor. The carry a nice Apex controller selection.

This is a very good pet shop. All their animals are held for a period of time and checked on by a vet to ensure they're in good health. The only problem with this, however, is the price of the animal goes up. Which can be worth it since you know you're getting a healthy individual. The staff is knowledgeable (which many pet shops can't boast), and generally have good prices on their tanks, décor, and supplies. As Master Yoda would say, "A very good pet shop this is."

This is my go-to pet shop. The animals are well taken care of, and are monitored before they can be purchased which means they are healthy and ready for a forever home. The facility is very clean, and there is always a new fish or animal to look at.
Great place to bring the kids especially when they have an educational night. Definitely recommend a stroll around! Maybe you will walk out with a new friend!!

The single best pet store I have ever been to. Not only is the staff super friendly, but they are highly knowledgeable. Most of them have spent years in school studying the animal behavior / environment /biology. They care about your pets and you. Honestly, Rick Preuss has created the single greatest pet store in all of america!
