Really friendly staff with a nice sized menu full of tasty dishes. The parking is good and the outdoor patio was a great place for a meal. We didn't come at a peak time but if we did the food would still be worth the wait!

Favorite mexican restaurant in San Diego. Arturo and the team are awesome. Margaritas are very strong so be careful if driving. The place gets totally packed most nights and they won't take reservations unless you have a party of at least 6, so get there early and/or be ready for a wait.

The food was horrendous! It was extremely greasy and mushy. The service was terrible! There was a hair in our guacamole. The waitress did not check in on us after our food came out. Don't waste your time or money. My experience here was horrible. I'll never come back, even if it is free.

Decently good Mexican food. Fun, lively atmosphere. Come to eat or just hang out at the bar. Parking is limited so get there early.

Some of the best food in San Diego. The only restaurant or bar I've found that can make a good margarita! THE BEST RESTAURANT in San Diego and I've been around.

I recently moved to the area and was looking forward to going to Ponce's because of the constant crowd and good reviews. This is the first time I've wanted to write a negative review for a restaurant. The hostesses were very friendly, but we had to wait 45+ minutes on a Saturday night around 8:30pm. I got a margarita to pass the time, and was extremely disappointed by how bad it was. I also got upcharged $1 for a larger size, despite ordering the standard "house margarita". The bar area was extremely loud (not the restaurant's fault), and unfortunately we got seated in that area. I was hoping the food would make up for the negative experience so far, but it was just okay. We also had to ask for more chips 3x for our queso due to the very small bowls that they're served in. On a good note, at least the margarita was strong. I hope that this was just a random poor experience because it's clear that people love this place!

The place is popping at night. Kind of loud, have to shout to hear your date. Fun place. Parking can be hard but there is some on the spaces on the street. The food was reasonably priced. You may have to wait. Got there around 7, waited an hour to get a seated, but it was worth it! Large portions of main dishes. Servers are nice & always filling up the chip bowl! They do have an happy hour. Margaritas! *wink wink*

This was our first visit and it was awesome! My daughter ordered the California Burrito and it was huge! Delicious, fresh ingredients, spicy, and flavorful. I ordered the Tostada Supremo and it was deliciously topped with fresh guacamole, sour cream and cheese. You don't have to ask for more chips, they keep bringing them to your table! And they come hot and crisp. We were told to next time order the cheese sauce to go with their chips-- yum!
Their drinks are nice and strong, but the flavor to die for! My daughter had the mango margarita and I had their House Margie! I am a Mexican Food person and we will be back!!
We highly recommend Ponce's great food, service and prices. Their happy hour is a must!response / report this review -

Great house margaritas! Delicious food! A little slow coming, but worth waiting. Plenty of chips while we waited. Definitely will go back again.

Great prices for a large selection of large-portioned Mexican food AND drinks in a more laid-back section of the city north of downtown. We went around 8:00 on a Saturday night and waited about 25-30 min; not bad considering the time. They were still offering drink specials at this time, including tall (and strong) house margaritas for $5. Meal prices were right on par as well - large portions at very reasonable prices. All around a great experience and somewhere I would recommend to others visiting the area.

Love the family pack of Ponce's with two sides. Always juicy, tender and flavorful. I've noticed that the place is getting really busy during lunch time, which makes it challenging to find a parking spot, but I'm happy for the success of Ponce's. I want them to be in the neighborhood for a long time!

The BEST!! in Service***** 😊 The food is yum!! So authentically Mexican!! & the prices oh so reasonable!! I recommend it to anyone that loves authentic Mexican food. 👍👍👍👍👍
