  We stayed here for our wedding weekend and the hotel and staff were very nice. That said, the heating/AC systems are dated and thus unpredictable. Woke up a few times to kill the AC (set at a reasonable level) and avoid frostbite, despite it being hot as an oven when we went to bed.

  Room was clean but was situated such that we were exposed to a lot of road noise. Kitchen layout was not very functional. Location was great, would go back if we could get a different room.

  Pillows are not good. Sheets didn't stay on the bed. Spelling error in the welcome note on the wall. Creeky floorboards. The location was great and it was very spacious.

  We stayed here for a long weekend. Great location. I didn't move my car for 4 days. Easy to relax, find activities and get good food

  My experience is one that did not happen. Due to a medical emergency, we had to cancel two days prior to stay. We were charged $188 for cancellation and processing.
  I have never experienced a rate this high before for a cancellation. Don't become ill and cancel. I will not be planning to stay here in the future after this experience.
  
  Addendum
  After a second email the management, especially Matt Smith, addressed the concern and addressed the issue and made things right. Thank you to Matt for addressing an emergency and reaffirming why I wanted to stay at Pointes North Inn. Sometimes personnel do not handle things correctly but good management does.
  Charlevoix is a great city with a great reputation of its businesses and people.
