Always nice Always clean Always Good and Fresh
Was taken here by a family member. Our first choice was Gray Brothers Cafeteria, but a local High School had a line going around the building, so we opted for plan B. This was my first experience at a cafeteria style eatery in this area. I wasn't impressed. The meat was either overcooked or dry (according to family members), the Swiss Steak appeared to be hamburger meat. The vegetables were overcooked. The salad greens were wilted. It seemed rather expensive for the quality of the food that we were given. The decor was straight out of the 80s or 90s, very dated and doesn't look like much of anything (including the recipes) have been updated in the last 20-30 years.
Great food, lots of choices! Fast service friendly staff big servings, you won't leave hungry guaranteed!
This has been my favorite place to go out for dinner since I was a small child. My entire family meets here every January 28th for my deceased mothers birthday.
Food was great and staff is friendly. The chicken is the best. Pic is roast beef and a double portion.
Booked for 20 to 25 room for family .GRT there and find out it was 2 tables for a family. They said who at restuarnt shouldn't book party .and table was next to bunch of holyroller singing and praying POOR SERVICE. Dinner HAM and BEANS half cook . You didn't get TIP from me and I said you should paid me .next time go to gray better food and service
I love Poe's Cafeteria. I would much rather eat there than the highly over priced Gray's Cafeteria down the road. The food is great. Pretty waitresses, pleasant atmosphere. Like home.
So much more than good food. Big portions. Fun laid back atmosphere. Price way low compared to local overpriced competition. Then another 20% off on Mondays for seniors and vets. Tuesdays 20% off for everyone for Customer appreciation. Free (w meal) Southern Gospel family and quartet Christian music every Wednesday and 2nd Tuesdays. Friendly staff. FUN FUN.
Food wasn't all that good, and it's way over priced
I like the place although food can be hit or miss. Usually VERY busy.
Been going to Poe''s for over 40 years. Our kids, grand and great grandchildren ask to go here with us. Good food wonderful staff.
Automatic five stars for having gooseberry pie. . Love their "Townhouse" cottage cheese but the recipe is often modified so I can't always be sure what flavor will dominate. This visit they disappointed me with a strawberry-rhubarb pie that was mostly pre-mixed strawberry glaze. The staff is always wonderful especially the floor hostesses.
The best thing about Poe's is it is always nice and quiet, and rarely crowded.
