A wonderful stay all around. The accommodations were very comfortable, the breakfast and wine socials very well done, and all the staff were so friendly and service oriented. We will be back!
I liked this hotel. Great breakfast in mornings. Great staff ! My view was not great at all of a parking garage. The noise in the morning on Saturday was insanely loud from some kind of construction or cleaning in the parking garage woke my wife and I up at about 6 in the morning and did not stop until we left around 9. That ruined are first morning however on Sunday there was no noise and we slept perfect.
Stayed in Rm 306 - Queen bed mattress sags so badly in the middle, I need mountain climbing gear to climb out - Since the main reason for me to stay at a hotel is to sleep, you lost two stars. Your staff is excellent and your place is clean. My daughter stayed in 406 and had the same experience. Buy new mattress that have some decent quality. I can't stay at a place where I wake up with a stiff back and have the day ruined.
Nice quaint location in the middle of historic Savannah. Very pleasant and helpful porter and doorman. Decent value. Be sure to put out the “do not disturb” sign if you want to sleep in. Housekeeping will knock on your door after 8 am on the weekend. Plan ahead for parking or pay valet.
The hotel is in a great location. Staff and valet were great. However the hotel had a horrible smell. Only 2 elevators and 1 was out of service. The room looked better online. Not at all what I expected. Very disappointed.
Classic southern hospitality. Well appointed rooms. Free happy hour wine and cheese in the lobby with a piano player. Ideally situated near great restaurants and attractions. Wide selection of complementary breakfast items. Sausages and eggs way over cooked.
Planters Inn is a lovely, old-fashioned type of inn with a terrific location. The complimentary continental breakfast exceeded the expected and the wine hour was a lovely touch. Our room was comfortable and attractive. Only thing missing was a refrigerator so we could keep our water cold. The staff was helpful, friendly and welcoming.
All in all, a lovely stay. Our room was very nice and kept up well. Beds were very comfortable and we slept like babies except for the last night when i woke suddenly about 3 AM to the feeling of someone standing behind me to the side of the bed. I totally "felt" the presence of a tall, thin man, but felt no malevolence at all. So i turned over and fell promptly back to sleep. A friendly ghost? The staff were all so friendly and helpful, the concierge, Karen was delightful and helped me book my tour and gave us great advice on restaurants, etc. We would definitely stay here again.
Fantastic location to all the historic sites, river, shops and restaurants. Liked the ambiance here with wine socials and piano music in the lobby in the early evening before going to dinner. Clean spacious room and bathroom. Great safe place for a solo traveler. I agree with another reviewer that the scrambled eggs were awful, but other options were provided, including fresh fruit.
Wonderful location, within walking distance to everything. Rooms have a historic feel, not ultra modern and sleek, rather a feel of how a hotel would have been at turn of century. Everyone at hotel has been friendly and willing to answer all questions. Also, they will provide any advice for where to eat and imbibe.
Great location. Walking distance to everything. Room is nice. Needs a few maintenance updates. Great place to stay!
GREAT SERVICE AND STAFF! EVERYONE HAD A GREAT ATTITUDE ESPECIALLY THE LOVELY LADIES WORKING THE BREAKFAST BUFFET. AND GREAT LOCATION! LOVED THAT WE WE'RE ON A MORE QUIET SQUARE BUT STILL WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE OF ALL THE FUN NIGHTLIFE.
Wonderful staff and an absolutely gorgeous hotel. This would be a five star review were it not for an electrical problem in our room that denied us the regular use of our bedside lamps. The location on Reynolds Square can't be beat, with much of old Savannah at your doorstep and quality dining in every direction. We would absolutely stay here again.
We stayed for four nights in January and couldn't have been happier with the location. It was so convenient to walk to everything. The rooms were nicely appointed and the hotel staff took care of everything - even sent us a bottle of champagne for my birthday! The wine and cheese social in the evening was very nice.
The only negative things I could say are that the breakfasts were just "ok" so we chose to go out for breakfast after the first day and there were some room "upkeep" items that need to be addressed. Our closet ceiling was falling in and the tub leaked onto the floor in the bathroom.
Overall we were very happy and would stay here again.
