Excellent pizza. Perhaps the best wings I've ever had. All.the atmosphere of a small-town diner.
This was the second pizza place in my hometown of Columbus, OH to spoil me for pizza anywhere else. The bold, crispy pepperoni and sweet crust are something unique I've never found anywhere else. I used to work in German Village and would walk to Plank's at lunch. Made for the perfect break. I love mom and pop pizza placesunti I move away and can't find anything like them where I've moved. Whenever I'm back in Columbus I grab a Pizza from both Pizza House AND Plank's.
Sadly, I'm not a fan of the pizza. It has a sweet crust, like eating a honey pretzel. The atmosphere, the salad, the people, they're all top-notch. I'll definitely come back, it just won't be for the pizza. :/
My husband's family LOVES Plank's! And honestly, it's the first thin crust pizza that I've really liked. Their pizza is really something special, with a extra bit of sweetness in the crust. They have free popcorn and peanuts while you wait too! The only reason I'm giving them a 4 is because last time we were there, the pizzas were burned. They were still edible, but the edges were barely so, especially to my seasoned in-laws.
My favorite place to get pizza in Columbus and being from buffalo I am very picky about where I get my pizza when out of town. Staff is friendly and always greeted me when I came in especially John Plank the owner. Love the atmosphere there very relaxing. Will return when back in Columbus area.
Very good food, great location, and service. Definitely worth a visit.
Great pizza and pitchers of beer. What more do you need? Service was great as well.
Just alright. Don't go out ofyour way to try it. Better places for sure
Always a fun visit! Been going there since 1986 the Days at MF. Great people with space to host B-day parties ( my 40th and my wife's most recent B-,Day). Many family events hosted here, great deals on pizza 1/2 price dine in only) during Monday Night Football and Big Monday hoop season. Big OSU place!
Order 2 large pepperoni over half of 1 crust was burnt and all the other. After getting the run a round, only gave me 1 pizza and $2 back for the other. And gave me the bad pizzas back after putting their nasty hands in it.we only ate 1/2 of a pizza and should have got half the price back especially since they put non washed hands in the pizza. Go at your own risk and check your food.
The food and atmosphere here were awesome! Best Reuben I've ever had! I would have given five stars, but our waitress was not very attentive. She walked by us numerous times without checking on us or even looking our way. Aside from the mediocre service we received, we loved this place!
Local mainstay that you definitely have to try if you want to experience the German Village area. Reasonable prices and great place to watch Buckeyes games. Only knock is that it is closed Sundays.
Best pizza going. The crust on their pizza makes the difference and they are generous with toppings as well. Great food and fun atmosphere.
This used to be the best pizza not just on the south side, but in Columbus! The quality has gone way down. I visited on two separate occasions, for the first time in years, since I was back in town. I figured the awful experience from the first visit was just a fluke, it wasn't the amazing Plank's I remembered. So I returned a couple weeks later, was sadly disappointed again. The pizza was paper thin and undercooked, not the crispy, crust I was used to from Plank's. The service both times wasn't great. We told the waitress my husbands roast beef sandwich was so dry it was inedible, she just said sorry. Didn't offer something in replace of the awful sandwich just a "sorry". I won't be back to my childhood favorite. And that's sad.
The pizza is good and does have a sweet crust so if that's not your thing then you should avoid the pizza. The pizza is the ONLY thing I would recommend here. Their sides are extremely overpriced and the portions you will receive are either extremely small, extremely burnt or both. (Most of them were both) 8 mini corn dogs that were burnt for $9. The jalapeño stuffed pretzel had pretty much no cheese at all and was also burnt $6. Chef salad you can fit in your palm for $8. The Italian sub $9 and was 7inches. Oh and don't forget that a can of pop will cost you $2.50. Now I will spend some money on some good food and I'm here to tell you to please not waste your money on bad, skimpy food. But the pizza is good if you like sweet crust!
