I'm visiting from up north and always looking for fresh seafood when I come to Florida. The soup of the day was a seafood chowder without potatoes. The flavor was fabulous and even without potatoes, the chowder was hearty and creamy.

It's one of our favorite places but last night's dinner and service were not up to their usual standards. Very disappointed in our server. It seemed like she was deliberately ignoring us as if we didn't exist. She had to walk by our table a lot since it was right in front of the main entryway to the kitchen. She had no excuse. The food was also disappointing. I have ordered this same dish many times and have always enjoyed it but they changed it this time and I felt cheated.not worth the price. The dessert looked as if it had just been plopped down on the platevery skimpy and sloppy. We'll give them another chance but if the next visit is like the last, we may have to rethink our options.

We had an excellent Sunday brunch here. The whole experience was five star, starting with the clean, light and airy ambiance of the restaurant (built around an original historic home) and continuing with great service from friendly and attentive staff. There was a choice of a brunch menu (shrimp and grits! Unlimited mimosas! ) or the regular lunch menu. In addition to the shrimp and grits, our group opted for two fish baskets- one breaded, and one pan seared, both delicious fresh black grouper, served up with a side of tender roasted red pepper fried polenta bites - as well as a burger, which was big, juicy and perfectly medium rare as ordered. We finished off the meal sharing apple pie a la mode, beautifully presented embellished with caramel pearls. The vanilla ice cream was dusted with finely ground salted caramel - a nice touch. Beautiful views of Lake Dora from both inside or out on the deck where there is plenty of seating under festive red umbrellas. On Sundays, a farmers market is held adjacent to the restaurant, and there are boutique stores open nearby as well, so you can really make a pleasant day of it. Highly recommend for both tourists and locals.

Seated within a minute, staff friendly and courteous. Brittany was attentive but not overly so. Steak was cooked as requested but lacked flavor. Portions were good. Flaming Donuts were the best part, table side preparation. Recommend drinks, apps, and dessert.

Fantastic food! Great atmosphere. Some views of lake Dora. Menu is small but fantastic. Something for everyone. Gluten free and vegetarian options!

Good food, good service(with caveat), great atmosphere by the lake. Just wished my server would not have called me "dear", as in "yes dear here is your drink dear". I'm 40 not 80 years old. As a former hospitality employee I stay away from any term that age dates a customer. Yes mam and no sir work perfectly unless your customers request otherwise.

UPDATE at the beginning of August

I am going to return and give her a second chance, as I believe she has earned one. I am sure I misjudged the situation and the bartender. The place was pretty cool, so I would like to make it a regular stop.

At the end of July, I reviewed

Can't say much. Just had a couple of beers on their patio. It was delightful sitting out there though. Just wish the bartender lady had a personality. One cannot rely on looks alone!

Good food great service, good view. Large outdoor seating with umbrellas, fands and heaters in the winter. There is also an outdoor bar.

Really disappointed in the service and the food. It used to be a great place but when the staff isn't trained properly you can only expect so much. At the price point you would expect for you server to not scrape and stack the dishes they are removing like it was an empty table. My entree was sparse and looked a lot more like an appetizer. Went away hungry.

The BEST Sangria's in townand on Mondays its ALL day HAPPY HOUR- which means they're HALF OFF! Also the only restaurant offering a Happy Hour in downtown Mount Dora with one of a kind Entree's made with the freshest ingredients served by friendly staff! Be sure to get there before sunset to capture some amazing lakefront pictures! I LOVE PISCES RISING AND WILL ALWAYS RECOMMEND AS A "GO TO" when visiting downtown Mount Dora!!

This is sad. We love Pisces for the outdoor music and dancing. Drinks are great and so are the bartenders. We had a reservation inside for dinner for 6. It was our Rehearsal dinner! We had mediocre food for about 30$ a head. What was so upsetting was the quality of the food was just ok. Nothing special. Something has gone wrong there. Things are not the same. We are locals and have been going to Pisces for 6 years. The food has never been awesome but now it is fairly standard on a nice plate. The manager did try to make it right but we waited for nearly an hour for our food. That is just too long.

Enjoyed girl's night out last night. Mt. Dora was busy for a Wednesday because of the Christmas holiday and folks wanting to enjoy the lights. We stopped in, no reservation. They kindly accommodated the 4 of us. Service was great, food delish and drinks on point. Thanks for a lovely night - we will be back!
