This is a very nice neighborhood restaurant bar. It's in the Old South Flats of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. The service is superb very fast and the food is just awesome.
The chips aren't quite right and the sausage rolls are kinda nope but the fish is top notch and the batter is lovely. We come back every month or two from the other side of the city just to get takeout. ^_^
We had the vegan shepherd's pie, and I have to say I was impressed. Not only was it good, but a pretty good size, too. Great selection of beers on tap. The only thing holding me back from a 5-star rating was the noise level and that I thought the drafts were on the pricey side.
Great environment for watching a match. The crowd is a ton of fun, and you'll get a lot of great banter.
I was especially impressed when a family walked by and everyone made sure they weren't being inappropriate! Way to go all!
Nice pub and atmosphere and great beer selection. I was disappointed in their English food as American substitutes are used, changing the taste and texture. The toad in the hole was a thin batter with sage (Jimmy Dean? ) sausage. The sausage should be fully enclosed in the batter. Gravy was good but the rest was not. Fish and chips were good
Lots of yummy vegan options on the menu. Great place to watch the Penguins. The mashed potatoes are delicious.
Food was great!! Loved the French onion soup. Salad was good too. I wanted everything I saw come out of the kitchen lol
Good British Isles foods & beverages. Nice staff. Multiple large flat screen TVs showing domestic & international sports such as American Football & European Football (a.k a. Soccer). Nice atmosphere & decor.
If you love a good hearty meal this is the place to go! The food here is amazing and very filling. Especially if you like things like beef stew and mashed potatoes. Service is always great!
Long-standing local Irish pub establishment with a great whiskey selection and a memorable atmosphere, for soccer lovers & foodies alike! They offer delicious whiskey flights (3 1/2 oz. selections) and tasty UK inspired fare. The Shepherd's Pies are by far my favorite (Lamb & Chestnut!) for dinner & I've had the Corned Beef Irish Boxty for lazy brunches more times than I care to admit! They're open early on the weekends for soccer fans, so it's always a go-to, when I'm hungry for brunch before the standard 11am brunch time. Now that they've teamed up w/ the Pub Chip Shop next door, their sandwiches (bap) are delicious - the bap is airy but crusty, with a neutral palette for whatever tasty meats you put on top - but with a subtle flavor that makes you want more!
Unique Pittsburgh dining experience. British cuisine. The zucchini strips are the bomb. The bread pudding is awesome when it is done right, but that's only been 1 of the last 4 times we ordered it. The service is friendly, the drinks are good and the beer selection is great. By no means perfect but consistently good.
Best British and soccer bar between the tunnels of Pittsburgh.
I don't really like food from the UK but most of the food is top notch. The fish and chips are one of the best in Pittsburgh.
They are by far and away the most accommodating bar for soccer games. They have tons of screens for all the EPL games and other leagues (hint: El Clasico is huge) during the weekends and even turn on sound for the big derbies. Amazing!
Only problem is that if you're here at any game time, the place gets packed out the door due to its size. You should be here 30 minutes before a big game kickoff to expect a seat.
Warm/UK-themed atmosphere! Piper's is a friendly neighborhood pub whose food and bar are impressive, consistently. The servers are knowledgeable and affable. The prices are reasonable and the U.K. style food is spot on! I highly recommend this cozy pub, whether you like 'football' or not.
There's so much to this place it's hard to know where to start.
Their stews are awesome beef and Guinness stew, lamb chestnut, shepherds pie, all so good I crave them when I've been away for a while. Also the hot pepper smoked turkey.
Really good selection beyond those from more ordinary sounding pub food to English/Scottish/Irish choices like bangers and mash. Scotch eggs are really good too.
They have a very good selection of single malts and other scotches and whiskeys.
It's a nice place to hang out and talk, except when they're busy it can get very noisy. And if there's a soccer game on it's jam packed.
Check out their website, there's plenty of details there!
Love love love this place when I'm in the mood for some hearty comfort food. Every visit (which is a lot) has been great. Food is spot on, service is wonderful, drink selection is very nice. Love the Guiness stew, shepherds pie (chicken and lamb), fish and chips, and breaded fried shrimp and chips. The shrimp was surprisingly good quality (big and juicy) and cooked perfectly. Desserts aren't that good but I'm usually to full to get them anyways!
