I have rented skis in this store last week. The staffs were very friendly and efficient. It took them only 15 minutes to measured-tested-adjusted 3 pair of skis for us. The price is very reasonable. I had compared 3 different rental places, this place's price is very low. I had rented 4 days of ski, but unfortunately, my daughter got a knee injury at the third day. They allow me to return one pair of skis earlier and refund the money.

Super helpful and friendly staff, made sure the bike was exactly what I needed and took the time to adjust everything. Bought some defective gloves and they switched them out no problem. And really reasonable prices!! Bv)

We rented bikes here a couple weeks ago. They took the time to size and adjust all 4 bikes for 10 yo and 12 yo girls and a mama and a papa. We had never ridden Giant bikes either and everyone was comfortable for 20 mile path ride, a 10 mile trail ride and a thorough thrashing at the bike park! A++ I wouldnt bother trying anywhere else when I got service like this the first time.

While there are plenty of bike shops in the county to choose from, the friendly and prompt service I get from the Frisco location keeps me coming back. The whole team there is on a mission to help out us locals, and the tourists that come through. Reasonable pricing for parts and labor. Fairly quick turnaround time even when the part needs to be ordered (that says a lot due to our funky mailing system).

I went to Pioneer to get a hanger for my derailleur on a Giant YT two (about 10 years old). There was some miscommunication on what the bike mechanic (Jeffery) needed so I brought the bike to him (a second trip). Jeffery did find my hanger and said it would be $60 and he wouldn't give me the part number. I left the store and did some research.

I called Giant in Denver and they had four hangers in stock for $15, but they weren't able to ship it to Summit county. Using the part number that Giant in Denver gave me I was able to find it on Amazon for $12. I was willing to pay up to $30 to get this part, but greedy Jeffery gets nothing.

I'll never step inside Pioneer again!

EDIT - So I went in person 5 days later to explain to a store supervisor about the situation with Jeffery. The supervisor had another "fire" to tend to and stepped away. I waited 5 minutes but was pressed for time. I went to Jeffery and told him that I found the hanger for $15 and said that I feel that you are trying to stick it to me by charging $60. He rambled of a couple of excuses and I had enough, turned around and left.

Not more that 5 seconds after I left the bike mechanic's work space Jeffery's shouts out "You're a DICK!" to me (there are 5 customers in the building). Real professional Jeffery, real professional.

I will give credit to the supervisor, after Jeffery's outburst the supervisor came out and tried to address the problem and seemed concerned.

My daughter had outgrown her boots, so all I needed were boots. We had used Pioneer before so I went there expecting to have a no hassle deal. I walked in without reservations. The word I heard wasn't "sorry we're sold out" It was essentially "go away". I expected to find them sold out and walked in with hope but no expectations. What I didn't expect was to be told to essentially go away. So I went next door to Breeze and rented boots and skis. That was a nice experience, unlike Pioneer.

They have the best maintained rental fleet in the area. Normally, when you rent skis, it's hit or miss whether they have a reasonable coat of wax. Here, not only do you get properly waxed skis, the bases are properly textured. I've never seen a better maintained rental fleet and they offer it at prices that are competitive with the cheaper options in the county. You shouldn't rent skis anywhere else if you are in or around Frisco.

Pioneer Sports always provides good service and good products to rent. And I get friend referral discounts too, so that helps me. Good location in Frisco. I have rented 20 different times with me and friends and never an issue. They always work with us to make it right. Am returning first week in January for more.
