love love love to meet old friends at this place. My favorite on the menu is sweet potato ginger soup! I've loved watching the restaurant aesthetic change throughout my undergraduate years at Taylor. Wholesome food, wonderful atmosphere, and always will be a great place to catch up with my old college friends!

My friends surprised me with a birthday lunch at this British-inspired restaurant. The food and service were fabulous. It would be just about perfect if they re-decorated with a British pub theme.

Make sure you have dessert. The taster has 5 different tastings on it. The husband really like is wrap. Sons girlfriend loved the tomato soup. I had curried chicken not knowing what I was getting. It was good. Different tastes. Fun experience. Waitress was very helpful with menu

Grilled cheese and tomato soup was an experience, though I did NOT like the balsamic vinegar on the grilled cheese piece. Husband had 1/2 clubhouse and there was a cup of fresh spinach in there, presumably to disguise the lack of meat present? Worms in dirt custard was great, though.response / report this review -

Rode our motorcycles 2 hours to this restaurant. Great service and amazing food! Bean dip was amazing and also the goat cheese wrap. I also tried a bite of my husband's burger which was amazing too. Worth the drive! You would never know it is there though. Loved the little touches like the menus and the glass ware also!

One of my favorite restaurants to stop at over the road. Bit pricey, but excellent quality food. One recent policy however is not sitting well with me. They just started to charge a 10% gratuity on take out orders. I do realize the staff is great and deserves a living wage, however in the past year they cut back their morning openings by a few hours (so cut the staffs' hours too) and added a huge new section that is almost as big as the original. Kinda seems the owner is trying to pass the buck onto the customer, at least in a roundabout way. Hope the staff does actually get that take out gratuity in full, too. Will continue to patronize Payne's, but probably not as frequently as before for take out at least.

Came in skeptical but did not disappoint. Had the fish and chips and the black bean and tomato soup. Great food and great service! A touch hard to find (north of the state highway and east of the interstate). Parking lot is a bit small. Cool little restaurant, but not a British Pub.

A British Pub run by Millennials. So the food is great. I would recommend though that they get rice for the Chicken Curry. The staff tries really hard but there is something awkward here. I am not sure if the sharing community of Millennials meets the needs of the floor staff quite balance out here. Don't get me wrong I love the place but it is very difficult for a restaurant to have a super floor staff. I think if they get the floor staff knowledgeable of what they have to serve and the needs of service it will be a great show.
For now, know what you are ordering and enjoy the great food. The service you can chalk up to entertainment in a good sort of way. Stop by it's worth the visit!
On a side note please mow the lawn and either plant vegetables in the raised garden or take them out. It looks scary!response / report this review -

THIS IS NOT A BRITISH PUB but still excellent!
I'm confused as to why Google calls this a British pub. It's a very cozy, modern and "hip" Midwest diner with excellent British Cuisine.
Beers on tap selection was minimal, but those available still complimented the food selections quite well.
Fish & Chips portions were very generous and well prepared.
British Chicken Curry was very tasteful, and I would definitely order it again, but it's not representative of a true "Indian Curry" that one would get in the UK.
There was a curry / bean dip served with corn chips as a complimentary appetizer that REALLY hit the spot.
This restaurant appeared to have be vegan friendly, consider yourself warned. ;-)
Easy on-off from I-69 while driving between Indianapolis and Detroit. Will definitely stop by again.response / report this review -

I come here for the atmosphere. It's eccentric and quirky. Feels local and foreign at the same time. Their menu changes a lot, but the food is usually pretty good. Their menus in used books are so creative. It's a little pricey though.
