If you don't want to be a teacher or a nurse, it's really not a good option. Even if that is what you want to do, you could get the same degree for much less $$$. Faculty is a mixed bag, had some really top-notch inspiring professors, and some of questionable quality. Outside of certain conservative circles, this place is viewed as kind of a laughingstock - perhaps fairly, when you consider some of their "Society of World Changers" inductees. Chapel services (3x per week!?) are required and cringe-inducing. Student Activities tries valiantly to make student life bearable, but administration keeps the reigns tight - and it shows. In retrospect, I wish I had made a different choice when I was younger, but I had enough positive interactions with faculty to say it wasn't a total loss.
Somebody once told me the world is gonna roll me
I ain't the sharpest tool in the shed
She was looking kind of dumb with her finger and her thumb
In the shape of an "L" on her forehead
Well the years start coming and they don't stop coming
Fed to the rules and I hit the ground running
Didn't make sense not to live for fun
Your brain gets smart but your head gets dumb
So much to do, so much to see
So what's wrong with taking the back streets?
You'll never know if you don't go
You'll never shine if you don't glow
Hey now, you're an all-star, get your game on, go play
Hey now, you're a rock star, get the show on, get paid
And all that glitters is gold
Only shooting stars break the mold
It's a cool place and they say it gets colder
You're bundled up now, wait till you get older
But the meteor men beg to differ
Judging by the hole in the satellite picture
The ice we skate is getting pretty thin
The water's getting warm so you might as well swim
My world's on fire, how about yours?
That's the way I like it and I never get bored
Hey now, you're an all-star, get your game on, go play
Hey now, you're a rock star, get the show on, get paid
All that glitters is gold
Only shooting stars break the mold
Hey now, you're an all-star, get your game on, go play
Hey now, you're a rock star, get the show, on get paid
And all that glitters is gold
Only shooting stars
Somebody once asked could I spare some change for gas?
I need to get myself away from this place
I said yep what a concept
I could use a little fuel myself
And we could all use a little change
Well, the years start coming and they don't stop coming
Fed to the rules and I hit the ground running
Didn't make sense not to live for fun
Your brain gets smart but your head gets dumb
So much to do, so much to see
So what's wrong with taking the back streets?
You'll never know if you don't go (go!)
You'll never shine if you don't glow
Hey now, you're an all-star, get your game on, go play
Hey now, you're a rock star, get the show on, get paid
And all that glitters is gold
Only shooting stars break the mold
And all that glitters is gold
Only shooting stars break the mold
First of all this campus is nice but there is absolutely nothing to do there. They overcharge, pretend to be Christians, treat you like you're five years old with all of the rules, and the students and faculty are the most judgmental people I have ever met. Spend 35 grand somewhere else is my recommendation.
The School is wayyyy over priced, nothing to do on the weekends.believe me. Go to a state school LOL
Came for never too young. Had a great experience! All middle schoolers should have the opportunity to go. There's also one for high schoolers
I have enjoyed my time. The schedule is accommodating and you are able to complete online entirely also. I have meet with compassion and helpfulness from all staff I have encountered.
I just want to thank IWU for all their support. I want to also thank the admission department for their hard work and dedication. They was with me every step of the way. Walking me through it. When I signed up for IWU I was so broken down and stressed out and just, hurt from all the running around and having to explain over and over again about a criminal charge that had been charged against me from way back in my youth days. Guilty or not guilty IWU didn't seem to care about what I did or what someone else did, but what they did care about is what are you doing now? And to be honestly with you I didn't even know this was a Christian college until I saw the courses and that was a day later or so but it didn't matter. All the lies I am seeing about how they are this and that is just not true. I witnessed it. Unlike where I am from, and I am from the south, you have to go to court for everything and I don't say that lightly. You have to explain over and over and over and over again what someone did to you and you have remember everything they did to you or what you did to them, good or bad you have to be reminded of your pass and you never be forgiven for it and those who hurt you aren't forgiven for their acts. They're never even punished. In fact they told me "I" should have pressed charges on my enemies when I had the chance. While that may sound good to the ears and feeds ego to the soul, I was commanded of one thing, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; " and the spirit brought this to me in the time of my power to do so but, I choose to love in spite of. I told them when they sat me down in that office, I said, I didn't press charges because I knew I would need grace one day. Where I'm from? they let you serve your time. You do whatever the judge orders and it still be held against you even after you've served your time. When I tried to apply to this last college It was held against me. I had to, (for the second time) go before the school board. It's like a courtroom. When it comes to education, I don't think pass criminal charges should hinder someone from enrolling in any college nor hinder one from becoming successful. It just shouldn't be and the world always hollering, nobody loves anymore or we should love, we should stop judging. Hahaha Now, I am not saying they didn't try to help me, they did, but it took so much effort to move these administers. Not all of them, but it took so much effort to try to get them to help me. If I show you how many cards I have from admissions, you would think I own a business card printing shop. I'm serious!!! I love my state and the schools they have here and wanted to represent them as an citizen's of the south of the state and of the county and city I live in all my life. My dad was a police officer here and they are well known ministers here so I wanted to carry on that legacy but I wasn't forgiven for a crime I didn't cause and till this day being yet hunted by the women that caused them. This was where IWU came in at and I thank them all from the depths of my heart because believe this or not, this is the first college I've ever attended and I am 31 years old. My mom is going to be so proud of me when I deliver this news. So thank you! for giving me a chance to prove myself and not thinking more highly of yourselves than you ought to. Thank you.
Before ruled in my favor on both cases, his last words were, Judge Stanley said,
Now, Ms. Sessions, Go and get your law degree. Case Dismiss!
LOL!!! I'm doing it now STANLEY!!! I'm doing it now! LOL!!!
Thank you all. God Bless.
This school has so much potential but their online transition to teaching program has an incompetent field placement coordinator. When you sign up for the program you will be asked for your three placement requests. This does not mean anything. The school can send you up to 50 miles away from your home address. If you try to make a request through the field placement coordinator you will be sent information from the student handbook which states that you could put your program in jeopardy if you try to secure your own placement. As an adult I thought this program would accommodate adults but it does not. Having to travel over forty-five minutes several times a week does not accommodate adults that have children and obligations.
Out of four teachers I have had three that were most wonderful. One was a nightmare and I almost withdrew from the program. She was more concerned with how she was addressed than providing the students with accurate assignment information or any help during the eight week class.
The program coordinator, Ms. Penny, is very dedicated. The counselors are wonderful.
This is an accurate review from a current student that is attending the online transition to teaching program in Ohio.

Best 5 years of my life. Made great friends, mentors, and memories.
I would urge you to avoid this institution at all costs. Poor class strucuture, generally discontended uncaring teachers, course content makes no sense when compared to the textbook and homework. Signed up for Legal Ethics and received a $200 used text book sold as new that was completly riddled with pen marks, and 3 colors of highlighers and typos. The text book was Legal Terminology which did not match the class outline. The class was poorly written and the assignments were not correctly laid out by teacher. When I asked questions I was reprimanded for asking. Teacher was unresonsive and hostile and actually texted me "I am busy with court". I was suprised then why she was teaching as on line course if she was a court practicing attorney. I can only assume financial gain and no attempt to care for teaching. I am sorry to say I can not recommend this school to anyone. I was a hobbist going to learning in a few topics that would enhance my work. I was really shocked and felt very sorry for what was established here as 'education' and how hurtful it would be to those who were paying very good money for an 'education' and were treated this way. The school has no method to take action for oversight for an instructor and they are pretty much allowed to do as they wish (or not wish) with little effective oversight. Avoid
I signed up to attend IWU through my job. I started in March of 2016 and I must say I am pleasantly pleased with the overall learning experience. I am seeking a BHA which I should have completed by the fall of 2017. My classes have been visited by the chaplain several times, we pray before each class and we are offered personal Christian counseling when and if needed. The classes are definitely college level and through my job the discounts are good.
Therefore I would give the school a 9/10 rating.
