Awesome service! High end salon service at a very incredible price! Students are talented!
Have been going here for cut, color and styling for over 2 years.
Nothing but the best in service , products and affordability ! Always feel pampered ! Thank you all !!!
They told me I had at 3:30 appointment and when I got there they said they didn't take anyone after 3 and said I had to go. They need better service
I had been going occasionally for color. Today's experience was HORRIBLE!
First, I explained that I wanted only one blow dry product for volume and need a root touch up. I indicated that it is best to color the roots and wash it through the ends at the wash bowl. May ignored me.
She put the color on the roots and combed it throughout my hair. Then, she left her station for 25 minutes and could not be found even by the learning leaders. Her response was that she was in the restroom!
When we washed out the color, my hair was BLACK! I could have cried and died! I mentioned to Rocky that my hair would come out black. He was like, "No. We can fix it if it does." By the time it was washed out, I wanted to hide!!!
Then, after indicating 1 product only. She used three. Stupid me. I let her. And dry, my hair was BLACK!
I'll save my money and not come back!
Students are awesome and extremely professional I loved it with my first visit and plan on making another appointment soon to try something fun & new knowing their knowledgeable student & teacher will provide the service I asked for. My new look will be hair extensions hoping to make that appointment real soon. Thanks for making my last visit comfortable and feeling great upon my departure. See you soon
Stefon took care of me and everything was a success. I went in for a trim and layer and it was done exactly how I wanted. Very welcoming environment, I will be going back to get my hair dyed soon!
I was not happy or unhappy with my visit, having very curly hair i am not willing to trust my hair cut to someone i do not think has experience cutting curly hair so if i have a student i have not had before i just ask for a trim. i want to see how much knowledge the student has. I avoid any disasters that way. I have had some very good cuts there though, it is just a matter of getting the right person.
Very time consuming and didnt get my hair nowhere near the way i wanted it after showing the student and the teacher pictures of what i wanted . Ended up just telling them it was fine just to get outta there i will never go back and dont reccomend it to anyone who wants a haircut . I understand their students but damn after showing pictures to the student and teacher you would think they would get it somewhat right ..nope sure didnt my hair is choppy and uneven ill pay whatever to go to someone who knows what their doing from now on . Also while i was there a lady came in beside me and ended up walking out cause ahe seen what my hair looked like.
Wonderful service and it is scary at 1st but I suggest you give it a try I think you will be happy with what ever service you try.
I arrived at Paul Mitchell Charleston at 9:00AM and had an appointment for my hair to be toned. The hair dresser and teacher looked at my hair and determined that because of the many different shades of blonde that they would need to mix their own formula to tone my hair. They did this and proceeded to put it on my hair. After waiting and washing it out twice they went back to mix a few more formulas and my hair looked ok, it was partially toned. The hair dresser put this formula in my hair and I could tell that it was very blue. I told her that it looked like it was going to stain my hair. The teacher came over and told her to leave it in a bit longer. After about 5 minutes we went to wash it out. The teacher came back and proceeded to tell me that she left it in to long. They blow dryed my hair and sure enough it was VERY blue. I was very nice and sympathized with them, even though I was very disappointed that even the teacher did not know how to do hair. I have done my own hair several times and am experienced with color correcting. The manager offered to fix it and apologized. I accepted. From this point on ONLY the manager was working with my hair which only ever happens if a student cannot complete the task. At this point though my scalp was VERY sore, it had been washed about three times and combed. My hair is down to my butt so it is very hard to detangle. She put some orange in my hair and went to wash it out after letting it sit. My hair was STILL blue. Again more orange, and again still blue. Once more she tried with a different formula. At this point I was ready to cry, my scalp felt like it was on fire and had been yanked at viscously. It was now 4pm. This time my hair was not blue, it was back where I started except slightly MORE orange. I came in to have my hair toned and it came out more brassy than I came in. She blow dryed my hair and when it came to brushing I could no longer take it. I asked her if I could please brush it myself. It was 6pm now and I had been here since 9am. I finally got my things and walked up front. The teacher pointed me to the desk and the lady told me it was going to be 76.00. I felt like I was going to burst into tears. I was the last one in Paul Mitchell except for the cleaning crew. The clients had left, the students had left and even most of the teacher had left. My scalp felt like it was on fire and hurt so bad I couldn't touch it. I asked why I was paying 76.00 for such horrible service. She told me that it would have been about 100.00 but she was nice enough to discount it a bit. UNACCEPTABLE. I wish I would have said something back to her or done something else but after being at this location from 9am to 6pm I no longer could stand to argue. I paid and left. When I got home I went to go see my mom who is a nurse because my scalp was hurting so bad. She looked at it and saw that it was burned. We took pictures and proceeded to call the director of Paul Mitchell Charleston as this was unacceptable. He did not answer so we left a message. The next day I called again and he answered and we spoke. He was extremely unsympathetic and rude. He was unwilling to give me my money back or provide any type of compensation. He told me to come in so he could determine if I had put anything else on my scalp after I left which I though was very inappropriate. He was condescending and arrogant, and left me very displeased with Paul Mitchell overall. I do plan on going public with my experience and letting others know to steer clear of these types of scams. Please do not attend Paul Mitchell for even the simplest things. They will take your money and leave you disappointed.
I was impressed with my level 2 student. She was extremely professional and concentrated on my hair even while.other students were having a 3pm dance off in the salon. She actually gave me a razor cut which I haven't done in years because it always get screwed up. She did an outstanding job and I'm glad I let her take the lead with my style. She has a great future in the business. Only draw back, if I had to come up with something, is the time.it took. Over 2 hours for a wash cut dry. Worth it though. Just plan your day around this :)
Great job! They students were great and the instructors were helpful and encouraging as well as proficient in their job. It took a while, but my hair looks amazing for a cheap price! Definitely recommend it to anyone!
