Awesome place. The food and service is good but the location is amazing. Enjoy food and drinks right on the beach so very cool. The blackened swordfish was delicious and the watermelon daiquiri was tasty. I was with a larger group and we were very touristy talking pictures, etc. The staff were very understanding and accommodating.

Love the view of the ocean. Food is fabulous. Patio heaters were turned on and provided subtle heat that was comfortable yet able to enjoy the ocean breeze. No birds around to bother us!! It is a little pricey but the views, food, and friendly staff is worth it.

The food was absolutely amazing. All of the staff was friendly, attentive, and willing to chat with us when we had any questions. The serving sizes were also huge! Loved the amount of food for the price. (And their sweatshirts are super comfortable, make that purchase ;) )

This is going to be a rather odd review as, while I have been to Paradise Cove many times including just a couple of weeks ago, I have not eaten at the restaurant in a few years. However, my understanding is that they are still under the same management so things should not be too different., What makes my review odd is that I never arrive by car, nor do I walk or take my bicycle. I arrive by boat and anchor in the cove. This is a great place to anchor and one of the few protected anchorages on the coast where you can stay for free. You need to avoid the kelp and rocks (they usually go together) and anchor in 30 ft or less a couple of hundred yards south of the pier. The pier does not have landing access from the water so you have to go ashore by dinghy to the beach. Because of a shore break, particularly in the afternoon, it is not advisable to use an outboard but rather to row ashore. The break is not as bad along the north and west side of the beach but beware of shallow rocks in this area. Once ashore the restaurant is lovely with a wonderful view. The decor is appropriately beach oriented and prices for breakfas,t lunch, and dinner are reasonable considering the location. I have arrived soaking wet from overturning my dinghy in the surf and the staff were most kind letting me dry off in the restroom and providing a towel to sit on. But the best thing about arriving by boat is I avoided the parking fee completely!

We ate at Paradise Cove in January while on a trip to the LA area. The atmosphere was wonderful because the weather was very warm and we were able to really enjoy being out on the patio near the beach. Two of us had fish tacos that were okay but not fabulous. The chicken tacos on the same platter were very good. Another guest had mussels and they were outstanding. I noticed that on their menu they had combination platters that seem to be exceedingly pricey, but when we saw them in person, they easily fed two or three people. Definitely recommend giving it a try.

The wait is long, food is average, restrooms are not clean, the servers are overworked, yet surprisingly nice, the facility is too old and in need of repairs, parking situation is uninviting. This place is in a major need of a pro-consumer overhaul. Maybe then it will worth the time and money. Waste of a good location. A slightly above-average taco truck would have been better. Avoid this place.

I don't know what to think about this place now. Before they had impeccable service but now I am being felt really bad when I ask something of the waiters and waitresses. For example, I will ask for hot sauce and ketchup before the meal because they forget about it later. So that way when food in front of us I don't have to wait for it. They say yes but even then forget to bring it. The funny thing last time my table done with breakfast then the waiter passes by says do you still need sauces. I'm like really, lol. I am asking for my check and you asking me if I still want condiments. I really want to give them 1 star but 3 stars is being really nice.

It looks like Malibu. It's clients look like from Malibu And maybe I can say it tastes like Malibu.
The ambience has a nice look with a mix of modernist but also history from the place itself.
You may find parts of it confusing, but nonetheless interesting. Outdoor is great and calm.
Food has its varieties, and we were amazed by some oversized dishes.
Staff is courteous but very occupied.
Parking is paid, even for customers.
Bathroom could be renovated and have better care.response / report this review -

This is a Malibu landmark.
The food is plentiful, great selection and value. Come by car or by boat, it's a great place to get away from the ordinary. Best She Crab anywhere. Authentic Paella for 4 people or 2 very hungry people $58.95. Barcelona Seafood Grille has every seafood imaginable grilled perfectly for $79.95 big enough for 4 or very hungry 2.

My family and I have been going to this local beach restaurant for decades. Love the simple grilled cheese and clam chowder for lunch as well as the awesome shellfish dinners seated outside with our toes in the sand. Informal dining with gourmet options on the beach. Its also kid friendly, nestled in a quiet cove so the kids can enjoy the water while parents can keep a sharp eye while they dine in comfort. Nothing better on the pacific coast.

The restaurant is very nice, with a wonderful view. I found it nor very well organised. I arrived with my family at 11.30 but booking is 2 hours in advance minimum, so we couldn't have a reservation before 2pm. At 2 they gave us a pager and they told us we had to wait 10-15 more minutes with no table, they suggested to go for a walk!!! I can't judge the food because we had only kids menu, chicken nuggets were full of oil and tasted like fish, chicken tacos were good. I found prices a bit too high

Clam chowder is delicious, and the portion size is hefty. Good atmosphere for the whole family.

The food was good. If you're out there, it's a good place to eat, but I don't know that I would pass up any of the other great places to eat just to get there.

Not what we were expecting at all!
The only good thing was the beach.
The whole eat at the cove and it pays for parking is bull! you pay over $30 and still pay for parking. To top it off the food we got wasn't that great. my friends burger and fries were cold. the drink we order was tasteless and I couldn't even describe my waiter because I saw him all of three times when we needed him at least 6 different times. Everyone seemed put out of place when asked questions.

Too bad I cannot rate with ZERO!
They charge $35 on a weekday just to park, supposing it goes down to $6 if you purchase food. It would be nice to at least have DESCENT and NOT OVERRATED food, let alone selling PRICEY "Malibu Experience" (most expensive fish and chips I have ever seen!).
Worst part is we are sitting on a table inside about to order food and drinks, requesting a table outside, and the waiter tells us, you cannot sit inside if you plan on going outside - its a policy. I cannot think of a more ridiculous policy, expecting your clients to keep standing up, and not enjoying their time by the beach eating, drinking and socializing on a table!!
Last but not least of my first review ever, don't forget this IS a PUBLIC BEACH! The restaurant ownership are renting it from the city. A few years back, they were charging $35 to walk in the beach, when locals parked a few blocks up the street, and walked in with their coolers, sandwiches and beers. They got into a HUGE LEGAL TROUBLE, and of course THEY LOST!
