I went out for the first time today (day after Thanksgiving) and so I assumed it would be full. Only 3 or 4 other shooters or groups and there was LOTS of room. Everyone was very courteous and safety-minded. There are two berms; a 50 yard and 100 yard.

This range is very close to Effingham county, Ga and I verified by calling the office number that no day use permit or anything like that is required for Ga residents - as long as you are NOT hunting. Very close and good option for those of us who live pretty far from the Richmond Hill WMA range on our side of the river.

Lastly, the recent reviewer who commented on the lack of rule-following is correct. I cleaned my brass but could see where lots of people simply sweep it off the concrete onto the ground. Also saw where someone shot up the canopy a little on the west side. That kind of foolishness will get it shut down to everyone. IF that is you, please rethink the long-term ramifications of your short-term decisions.

So more the warden stated the fine was for littering because the clay pigeons hurt people mowing the grass. So I googled it can you be hurt by Clay pigeons mowing with the riding mower guess what you can't be nothing .. turns them to powder!!!!!google it!!! Now more pissed!!

So I been here a lot every Sunday And most Wednesdays for the last year!! Am the guy who cleans up all the garbage and brass. today I went and got there at 10:30.. earlier then the 1 pm time.. rule breaker sorry � we shot clay pigeons which now I know just is not allowed. we pick up big pieces when done every time but still wrong I get it the game warden pull us over shortly after leaving and gave us a ticket for a $ 105 bucks each for shooting clay pigeons. said the guys mowing the lawn got hurt by them??? Really hurt by them??? I'll add pictures of place and not sure what grass they're mowing cause there isn't any an again I pick up ever thing I can mine or not!!!!! I will never go back, I will never support any thing to do with state game lands !!! And if someone has to mow grass on state lands ,, they are paid by my taxes as well as the game wardens!!! And when I was leaving the people next to us!! Guess what they were shooting at??? Yep clay pigeons and shooting shotguns which is against the rules!!! I'll be joining a private club and not have to clean up after people and be fine for b.s.

Well no one answered the phone to say whether it's open or not so I journeyed an hour out there to find out it's closed for preparation of range day that just happens to be tomorrow so wasted time going there for nothing

Its a place to shoot thats close to me and is never crowded .
You have to bring something to mount your targets on . I use long wooden stakes and staple them to it .
Pistol range is great for any pistol but the rifle range is only about 100 yards , good enough for sighting in .
Would be nice if there was and area that you could throw and shoot clay pigeons and was no need to make an appointment .
There is an area that you can shoot them but you have to make an appointment and it has to be supervised . That area is more of a group event .
Overall great place to get some trigger time .

Just went there today for the first time. Great unsupervised range. One side is pistol the oter side is rifle. Could maybe use more trash cans, they were all overflowing today.

Very nice outdoor range, has both a pistol bay and 100y rifle range. The shooting line is under cover and there's nice benches at the rifle line. Brink your own targets! Only bad thing I can say is they're bad for unlocking the easy to access front gate that's accessible from Hwy 119, you need to find the back entrance but depending on the weather requires a truck to access. I've never seen it crowded there.
