My father has been in the trauma surgical ICU for almost 2 weeks now. His whole care team have been so wonderful. Special shout out the Brandi and Ellen, two of his nurses and Dr. Westby. His whole team is doing such a great job communicating with the family and giving exceptional care to my father. Thank you!!!

If I could go with 0 stars, I wouldProbably the worst Emergency Room visit ever, Sad because the the actual hospital (where I stayed after a heart procedure) did a pretty good job. What was alarming was to see multiple patients walking out after waiting for hours. The management of the ER did one of the worst jobs I have ever seen in triaging patients and getting patients seen according to medical needs. The manager at the front desk was inept and failed to offer any kind of reasonable and timely care. They seemed to be more proficient in handling food deliveries than dealing with medical issues. I sat for over 5 hours with a pain level of 8-9 and serious difficulty breathing and minor chest pain. They appear to be understaffed and the simple task of getting patients seen by level of severity questionable, prioritizing a sprained thumb over severe respiratory issues did not seem to make sense. Many patients were left in severe respiratory distress while other patients were seen for less severe non life threatening issues.
The waiting area was not clean, there were used vomit containers on the ground outside the entry doors.
I have spent many years as a first responder, EMT and Flight crew on a medical evacuation rescue helicopter and have serious questions whether the manager at the admissions desk had the competency to safely oversee the operation of this ER facility.
Sadly, the performance or lack of and bad management of the administrative staff of their emergency department, casts a poor picture of the entire hospital as a whole. As a former inpatient on the cardiac ward after a procedure, my care was outstanding. I have had outpatient procedures that were outstanding. Spartanburg Regional is a good facility, they just need to manage the emergency department in a better manner.
The lack of timely and prudent care and poor attitude and the inability to properly triage patients and to get patients seen according to severity of sickness or injury demonstrated by the Emergency Room. was, in my opinion, unsafe and a stain on the hospitals good reputation.response / report this review -

I didn't even think to check the reviews prior to bringing my wife to the ER after being rear ended, but now that we've been here for 6+ hours, I now completely understand what EVERYONE else has mentioned. I shouldn't have to find a nurse to tell them my wife is in pain, can someone come and say hi, check on her, give her pain medication, etc. Zero care! Zero sense of urgency! And Zero starsgoogle made me give atleast 1.

I took my daughter who is pregnant to the labor and delivery triage because of some pain she was experiencing. This is her 1st pregnancy so we went for her to get checked out per doctors orders. When we arrived it was around 8pm and the place was like a ghost town. We were greeted by a nice enough receptionist who lead us to a small observation room. Well, it really went downhill from there. Angela entered the room and practically threw a gown at my daughter and told her to go change. She had an attitude from the time she entered the room, like we interrupted or was bothering her. I mean really if you hate your job that much find a new career. Leave your personal problems at home. When you have a patient who is pregnant and in pain have a little sympathy. The midwife and the other lady were great, but Angela needs a attitude adjustment.
