Grandson, Daughter and myself came there today as a surprise for my Grandson. He was surprised for the visit there. He really enjoyed the reptile shop, he got to pet a gator. He enjoyed seeing the peacocks but wished they would have spread their tail feathers. He had a choice between the Mermaid Show or go and do the boat ride. He went on the ride (limited time to get all things seen and done) since he has never been on a boat. The Mermaids came to his school last year so he saw them just not swimming in the water. Had a GREAT TIME there today. Thank you for asking about our visit with you.🤓
Once again, the staff has outdone themselves! What an amazing time my daughter and I have at the Mermaid show! Thank you, Weeki Wachee staff for an affordably priced family night of great entertainment! Love your park.
Can't ask for a better place to kayak!! The price to launch isn't bad considering you they give you wheels to help get your boats down to the launch and their super friendly staff helps get you out on the water. They offer tips to the newbies and even help you get your stuff back out of the water at the other side. The trail is incredible! Lots of beautiful things to see and places to swim along the way too! Never been without seeing at least a couple manatees. Just don't forget the bug spray you'll need it! Lots of course flies and mosquitoes.
Everything. Beautiful scenery and set up of buildings. Lots of fun activities for families to enjoy. The Mermaid show is Awesome and one of a kind. Decent rates. Annual passes available. Best place to swim in the Heat & Humidity as the fresh water estuary stays a cool temp all year round. Great kayaking, can see lots of sea life, even manatees and dolphins. We spent more time here than anywhere else this summer. Went to several night time events and talk about Beautiful. We had a Blast. Favorite place to go and to take visitors!
State park. Admission around $13.50 per adult. Nice gift shop. Mermaid show goes on at scheduled times except during storms due to danger of lightning strikes that may hurt the performers.
Sirens of the Deep, former mermaids, perform on select dates. Workshops available to teach children and adults (later very limited availability) on "How to be a mermaid!"
Very nice family experience and affordable for those who don't want to spend $80 going to other local commercial waterparks. This is an older, classic experience rich in Florida history.
Pack a picnic, stay the day and enjoy the slide, exploring the sites or just swimming in the cool fresh water springs with your loved ones! Nothing fancy, so don't expect whistles and bells.
Lots of famous folks have recorded songs and videos here with the lovely mermaids and now there's even mermen! One kissed my handsuch a gentleman! The show fills up, first come, first seated, so arrive early to enjoy this classic Americana institution!
Really great place to visit. The mermaids are amazing!! Take the boat ride! But wow is the water cold!! From all natural springs the water is clear. Great memories
The kayaking here is amazing. The water is crystal clear. It's about a 5 mile trip where you can get out and swim and have fun in the water. We saw lots of wildlife. Including manatees and otters. Everyone should do this at least once in their lifetime.
This place is simply the best to hang out on a beautiful Saturday morning. It is worth a detour, just one hour or two driving from Tampa or Saint Petersburg, respectively. It is good for a family trip, but the best I think is for friends hang out. We came here around 11:30 on Memorial day and forgot to book a kayak in advance, but luckily there was no problem getting one at all. Just was told to remember making a reservation next time. We got ourselves a tandem kayak, life-vests, paddles for $45, which is the best we have spent. The scenery is breathtaking, astonishing; the water is crystal clear and refreshing that I can see through it to the bottom. We spent five hours kayaking down the river, relaxing, and swimming. We even encountered one Manatee. Some people said they had seen dolphins swimming around. There was a shuttle waiting for us at the pickup point at Rogers Park, the end of our journey. What else should a couple be expecting for over a weekend? I only have problems with tropical mosquitoes and some kinds of aquatic insects. Carrying mosquito repellent, suntan lotion, water bottles, and snacks are a must.
This was a great experience. Lots of fun. Lots of nature. Great areas to stop and picnic. Areas to jump out of trees into the river. This was awesome. They do need to get more organized and get the computer system up to speed to be able to swipe credit cards.
It's a great place to take the family, is affordable, you can take your own food and drink in. The food prices at the snack bar is even affordable. Update: A week after getting home I washed one the coffee cups we bought from Weeki Wachee gift shop and the design basically melted off. I called them to ask them if they would be willing to send me another cup at my cost. After almost a week of waiting to hear back from them, the manager called and asked me what cup I would like and I didn't have to pay anything. Great customer service!!!
Amazingly clear water. Kayaking takes about 2.5 hours but the views are great!! Love this location. Clear waters so you are able to see different water creatures
We love launching our kayaks here because it is downstream and so beautiful. It does get crowded the later you get there. The earlier the better. The reason I give this particular place 4 stars is because we are constantly being told we need to make reservationsbut every single time you call they NEVER answer. The voicemail is full. I have even left them emails with nothing in return. They always give us a tough time about making reservations (and we only go during the week), but unless we drive there it is impossible to make them. Other than that everyone who works here is very willing to help where needed. We go here often for good reason. Great place to launch! Also lookout for the raccoon that likes to jump in your boat. Lots of places to jump on this trek and it really is just gorgeous!
Went this past Father's Day so seemed like a very busy day. Staff was courteous and efficient. Special shout out to Megan for helping with the reservations. Parking was tight but staff helped when lot was full. River is beautiful for the first few miles. Only drawback is after the third mile or so, it gets very crowded. Shuttle pickup was fast and the driver helpful and professional. Was a good experience and a lot of fun. Whole family enjoyed it.
Great company that worked with our large group and had everything prepared when we arrived. Be sure to have all the ages and names prepared for everyone in your party and anyone over the age of 18 will need to be prepared to fill out a waiver. Nice kayaks and rentals and friendly staff. Recommend if you are thinking about going down the river and enjoying the area.
Paddling down the river was an amazing experience. The water is beautiful and the scenery is really something else. Be prepared for a lot of people if you go between Christmas and New Years Eve. The river was packed. But I think if you went during the off season it would be a nicer experience. We rented a tandem kayak and stopped a few times for lunch and a swim. Took us about 4 hours total. And the bus back to the top of the spring is quick. Highly recommend!
