What a fun place to go. If you go and it's new for you make sure you go to the back porch. The dinner the dinner was delightful. The fish was very fresh. Very enjoyable..

Nestled in the artistic community of Sarasota right next door to the Burns Court theater. A fantastic eatery to enjoy a meal before or after the theater show. Excellent choice of seafood dishes plus other choices to fill out the menu. On the pricey side but worth the dining experience.

Megan and Ronnie nailed it!!

We went in on a Tuesday night and were told that it’d be an hour and a half waitso we made friends with the crew at the bar and took four of their chairs as soon as they finished! Ended up getting seated in less than 5 min.

Megan was tending bar and Ronnie was shocking oysters. We ordered a dozen blues, had Ronnie prepare them, and they were hands down the best oysters we’ve ever had. Megan kept the beer and wine coming and recommended the mussels and clams with angel hair for me- so good! The rest of the food in our party was just as delicious - garlic snails, the camp basket and red snapper with grits and succotash.

Be prepared to order a drink and settle in - great atmosphere and excellent food. I see why so many locals told us we had to give Fish Camp a shot! We’ll definitely be back.

Just a little taste of heaven at Owen's. The restaurant is set back in the trendy Burns Court area of Sarasota. The bustling restaurant opens up to a relaxed courtyard with live music and a rustic feel. They accommodate many dietary restraints as well. The fish tacos can be requested to be wrapped in lettuce instead of tortillas. Great healthy alternative!

Owen’s Fish Camp is a house in kind of an alley. It’s a nice place. The backyard has a bunch of old tables and chairs that are a fun place to have a drink and wait for your table. Once inside, things got even better. Everyone was incredibly nice. The jambalaya was fantastic. The cheesy grits were the best I️ ever had. The Fish Camp lager was also pretty good. Excellent, fun place and I️ would definitely go back.

It's waa awesome and I was very impressed. Stone crabs very fresh and blackened triple tail was to die for. Green beans not overdone dirty rice great and vegan daughter loved the grilled vegetables. Desert was to die for black cherry pie pastry with quality vanilla bean ice cream. I am stuffed with a smile on my face.

Owen's Fish Camp is a Sarasota institution. If you are a visitor I highly recommend a visit! It's full of atmosphere and very cosy, the food is delicious (jambalaya and the soft shell crab being favorites of ours) and the staff are lovely. There is a great garden out the back, perfect for children and sitting having a drink. Make sure you have plenty of time as there are no reservations and there's usually always a wait. If you sit outside, don't forget bug spray!

This is one of my family's favorite places to go eat! Love the atmosphere, how you can sit out back and listen to live music and drink a beer, all while waiting for a table. The manager, Tiffany is the best! Always so friendly and relatable. The food is amazing, and the service is fast. I got the fish tacos tonight, like usual and also ate some gumbo for an appetizer. Always so delicious!!

This place was fantastic! The decor, vibe, food, drinks and service was top notch!

The outdoor space while waiting for a table was so cool, made you feel like you were in someone's backyard where you could spend hours checking out all the decor. They had a campfire set up where you can order a few apps while waiting for your table and wait to get your beer outside when waiting! $5 glasses of wine and $4 can beer. We tried the campfire oysters with jalapeños and bacon and a blacken shrimp skewer.

We were told an hour wait and not even 20 minutes later our table was ready. The server was super friendly and went over the menu with us and suggested a great beer.

I had my heart set on the Mussel and Clams thin spaghetti pasta with tomatoes, my boyfriend got the Fish Camp basket. Both entrees were great with tons of flavor, the pasta was full of mussels and clams.

Of course we had to try the Key Lime pie which was perfect since it had two pieces.

Owens Fish Camp will now be a place we visit every time we come down to Florida. Can't wait to go back!

Bad experience. Restaurant was dirty on the inside. Cobwebs on the light over the table. Service was very good. Deviled Eggs were good, minus the crunchy salt. Oysters Rockefeller were awesome. Scallops and Pork were terrible and I sent them back. There was shell or something on the first scallop that crunched in my teeth, and there was an artificial smoke flavor that turned me off. Food quality needs to improve with the prices they charge.

Absolutely love this place. Normally I couldn't care less about ambience but this place is incredible. It really feels like you are in the backwoods. Also I love the string band that plays in the back. I always take people from out of town here.

A Sarasota must!
What a great experience - great food, great service, great decor. After dinner we ended up in the back yard of the restaurant where it feels like you've entered a party in the deep South where they sell drinks and boiled peanuts and the live music had people dancing. Can't wait to go back.

Very cool decor and laid back atmosphere. There is very limited on site parking but plenty can be found on the surrounding streets. The food options are excellent with very flavourful dishes on the menu at reasonable prices. The bourbon pecan pie is fantastic.

Get here early! Dinner starts at four and by four thirty we were lucky to get a table. But it's for a good reason, the atmosphere and the food is outstanding.

I had the fresh blackened grouper catch of the day, sides of garlicky green beans and old Bay fries. All of it was great and service is friendly and quick. My wife ordered the lobster Cobb salad and cleaned her plate happily. But our most pleasant surprise was the garlic emails with chorizo and a sweet wine sauce we had for starters. Out of this world.

And hey, live bluegrass music on Tuesday nights if that's your thing!

Great experience! Keep in mind there is normally a wait here, an hour is not unusual. But the backyard is the waiting area and they normally serve appetizers and have live music. The char boiled oysters are amazing! The food is amazing every is good the combinations and sauces are so creative. Don't miss this place! Parking can be a little difficult your best bet is to find street parking and walk.
