So, we have had our annual Christmas party here for the last four years, I guess every good thing must endthis year was not what we expected as we had the past three years and the changes to the room and layout and menu were not what had been agreed upon. I have never had anyone send a menu and then change it - my fault for not rereading the entire menu over after I had asked for and we had agreed on what we would be having. We did the best that we could as did the one poor waitress that was trying to serve 38 people. The food was not as good as it once was. I sometimes wonder why things that are working so well get changed - and not always for the better. We will find better accommodations next year. Thank you for three great parties and one not great party. 5 stars to 1sorry!

Love, love, love Oscars! The food, the atmosphere, the people - it is a top notch restaurant that never disappoints. Shrimp and Grits=the best in Charleston. Mark and his staff love to make your experience pleasurable. We will be back 😊

The food is good, but not great.
An argumentative waiter wanted me to know that Westbrook's White Thai is a pale ale, though it is not. He did bring me the correct beer (One-Claw) after I sent it back, but his condescending attitude was surprising and insulting.
The atmosphere is great, very nice place to have a dinner.
For the price, I felt underwhelmed by the food and especially the service. I expected to be treated respectfully.

My husband and I went on s Saturday night and had a reservation for 6:30p. So glad we did because it was aready very busy. I had the Snapper that was featured that night an my husband had the seafood burrito. We were not disappointed, it was delicious and the portions were huge. Our waitress Missy was very attentive and so friendly. It was our first time there and we will definitely be back!

Absolutely delicious!!! We had she crab soup, chicken leek soup, crab cake melt, and shrimp salad croissant. I honestly didn't know what I wanted my last bite to be. And the cucumber salad was amazing. The service was wonderful. Our server was very attentive and kind. I don't know who Oscar is but he is must be somebody special.

Need to train the waiters on etiquette! After finishing a dinner, that wasn't that great (house salad was just bagged lettuce, old at that), we experienced the most rude thing! We paid our bill, leaving a nice tip and walked out of the restaurant. As we were almost to our car, the waiter chased us down stating that we didn't pay our bilum, yes sir we didarguing with us, we opened up the bill that he was waving at us and said, yes we did and a tip as well! He then saidafter looking at it himselfoh, I gave y'all the wrong billcome back inside and let me give you the right one! Super embarrassing to walk back into a restaurant and wait on him to figure out where our "correct" bill was! Such a very rude experiencenot handled well at all and the attitude of blaming us for not payingwe will never return!

I recently dined at Oscar's with a party of five, early evening on a Friday. The ambiance and service were very nice. The food was just below expectations, though.
Two of our party had the shrimp and grits. They were fine, especially for the price. All of the entrees on the menu were very reasonably priced lower than expected, actually.
One diner had the prime rib. Kind of small and overcooked. Another had a chicken entree, which she said was fine.
I went for the surf and turf special, unlike the entrees this one was priced to expect the best. The 'turf' was a beef 'tenderloin'. Very similat to a frozen ribeye. It was cooked to medium rare, as ordered, but, as in most cases, the steak continues 'cooking' on the plate and turns medium before you can finish.
The 'surf' was a lobster tail. The tail looked large on the plate, but it had been split open and the meat was gone. There was some lobster meat on the plate, 3-4 bites, and I doubt it came from the same lobster tail. The lobster meat was mushy and not at all consistent with the texture of meat from a lobster tail. I was disappointed, but didn't want to cause a scene during a family outing. My advice to those ordering lobster at Oscar's would be to request the meat remain attached inside the shell.
I live 45 minutes away, and this dining experience was not good enough for me to make that trip again any time soon.

This is my "spoil me rotten" place of choice. Always perfection! It's quaint, elegant, superior and best of all the busiest best kept secret of Summerville. Best to make reservations. The steaks are cooked to perfection no matter how you eat them. And the "Oscar Style" is a MUST. Never had anything bad here, it's on point every time and never had less than the best service.

I visited a couple of weeks ago for a lunch date and had a pleasant experience. I was greeted right away and informed the greeter that the person I was meeting had arrived before me and already gotten us a table in which case she led me right to our seats without needing any additional information. The waitress was prompt and thorough, asked if it was our first time dining there. It had been years for both of us and so she walked us through the menu. I chose the Caesar chicken salad. Everything was really fresh and crisp. We were probably there eating and talking for a little over an hour (first date), but wasn't rushed even given that fact that it was lunch time. Based on this and previous visits (Sunday brunch and dinner) the food and service has been hit or miss, which is why I gave 4 stars.

Super polite wait staff and great food. This is a fairly classy joint, but they had no issue with my party of four construction workers in high vis clothes joining the buffet for lunch.

I wanted to like this place.but the food was just absolutely terrible. The service and atmosphere were both pleasant, but when it got down to the first bite, things went downhill quick. I got the chicken Oscar, thinking I couldn't go wrong with their specialty dish. It was not fresh and tasted almost frostbitten. My husband got the braised short ribs and his tasted the same. The mashed potatoes were very cheap tasting, likely not homemade. Even my kid's chicken and cheese quesadilla was so bland and tasteless. It's a shame, but they would need an entire menu overhaul to get me back in there.

Very deceptively classy restaurant. The outside doesn't look like much but the inside has a very pretty bar, heavy wood tables and nice decor. The menu is classic southern fair, and the best shrimp and grits in Summerville.
