This restaurant has the best BBQ I have ever had, and some of the best food around! It has a great atmosphere, and it's close to the beach! I defiantly recommend going there
One Hot Mama’s was a good BBQ joint. I think the best thing about OHM’s was the atmosphere. It had a feeling of “this is where the locals eat”.
I had mixed feelings about this though, the bbq was good, but the sides weren’t spectacular. The service didn’t really go out of their way to be friendly or make us feel welcomed.
Worth trying for the fun atmosphere.
Went in at 2 pm for a beer and sandwich today. Place was maybe half capacity and indoor bar only had one other patron. Waited 7 minutes for a bartender, never showed. Got up and left. I used to live here and eat here frequently. Was looking forward to reminiscing of their good eats. Was extremely disappointed at the lack of service. The other individual at the bar also had no clue where the bartender was at this time. Too bad, their food is usually good quality. But, in today's environment, good service is just as important. I hope the management is willing to look at their service record, I see several reviews with similar complaints.
Just left this place and am giving it five stars!!
First off, it was easy to find. The place is clean. We were seated quickly. Staff was very friendly.
Our server was Tonya and she was absolutely fabulous. Answered our questions, made us feel welcome and right at home.
Didn't have to really wait for the food. And trust me.it was delicious!!The brisket, sausage, pulled porkall of it was amazing. Fresh. Wish we could've tried everything because the aroma in the air is mouth watering and it all looked, sounded great.😊
We are stuffed right now! Lunch specials hit the spot. Right portions.
We will be back!!
Thank you OHM and Tonya!
Wings are great! The ribs are phinominal! Fall off the bone great. Atmosphere is fun. Waitress was personable and very knowledgeable about the food. Recommended the key lime pie and chocolate chip pecan pie. To die for! Go Blair.
My family and I dined at One Hot Mamas last night as we heard great reviews. We had to wait 45min to get a table on a Monday night which was fine with us. I used to be a server for 5 years so I knew food would probably take a while to get and service may be slow.
To my surprise the food came out relatively quick in about 20-25min. The food itself was descent. Some was good like to pulled pork and ribs however the green beans and pineapple both seemed to come right out of a can. Overall the food was okay. Some good and some definitely not so much.
The part of our experience that was really disappointing was the service. I expected potentially slower service due to the wait to get in but our waitress only stopped by our table five times throughout the entire hour we were there. First stop to get our drinks, then about ten minutes after our drinks arrived she finally stopped to get our order for her second stop at the table. Third stop wasn't for about 30min later when she checked to see how our food was however everybody was almost finished eating by then. Then the fourth and fifth time were to ask about dessert and give the bill. On top of that every time she stopped she was very short and not personable or friendly at all.
Upon ordering my wife and I wanted to split a meal and she informed us there was a charge to split the plate. That was fine however it wasn't listed on the menu about that policy. So having to pay $4 to split a plate you would expect the kitchen to actually split the positions into two separate plates, right? NOPE. They didn't even give us a separate plate to divide ourselves.
So upon getting our meals by the kitchen staff (not our waitress) we asked the cook who brought our food if we could have an extra plate. He said he would be right back with it. 5 minutes past and no plate. We spotted the manager and informed her about us not getting our plate, a side missing from my dads meal, and needing drinks refilled as they were the original drinks served 35min ago. The manager told our waitress and we got our refills and side but still no plate. The same cook that brought our food was delivering food to another table and we asked him again if we could get a plate for my wife and I to split our meal. Finally he came out with our plate about 10-15min after the food originally came. So obviously by that time the rest of my family already finished eating their meals and our food was cold. Not once did the waitress, manager, or cook ever apologize about the situation. Heck they at least could've taken off the $4 charge to split a plate when they wouldn't split it for us or give us an extra plate.
Overall we were disappointed with this first time visit. Food was okay but service was very poor.
My family and I went there for lunch today and the food was fantastic. Our waitress was Sophia and she was Excellent. Portions where exactly what we needed for lunch and we also got desert which we didn't need but we were so glad we ordered. The key lime pie is fantastic and the pecan chocolate pie is really good as well. We will be back
My family ordered from this place on Wednesday night. We asked for advice on how much pulled pork we would need to feed 26 people. They advised we get 6 pounds Which was not NEARLY enough. We also got macaroni and cheese and it was as if they melted Velveeta cheese and stirred it around in some over cooked pasta. It was so bland and disgusting my 2 year old nephew (who is insane about mac-n-cheese) wouldn't even eat it So, needless to say, we won't be ordering from here ever again. Also, my mom called the next day to talk to someone about it, and they have yet to call her back to address the issues. That was 3 days ago So Not worth the money
The food here is absolutely amazing! The portion sizes are very large and I am yet to be anything less then blown away by a meal I've ordered. The staff are always welcoming and fun.
Alive with kicking flavors, BBQ. Very reasonable prices and quality meats prepared well. Cool setting, quick friendly service. Drink specials were great also. Brisket was top notch, pulled pork good, collard greens & rice w/ gravy were not good. Corn bread was small 1 inch square, could have used a few decent sized pieces Would go back for sure but try different sides.
Great apps, entrees BBQ is all good. Service was excellent also. Will return.
Our favorite place to eat. We drive up from Savannah for the most excellent food. Brisket, rib tips, smoked fried chicken, outrageous burgers and the best sides ever.
The. BEST. barbecue. We went because of a recommendation from a local and were not disappointed. It's tucked away in a strip mall of restaurants. The inside is nice and warm. The food is clearly homemade from scratch. Everything was correctly seasoned and delicious. The mac and cheese was smooth and cheesy with a little crumb on top for a crunch. The collards were cooked perfectly and were still bright. The okra was hand breaded and golden brown. All delicious. My husband had the pulled pork, and I had the brisket. Both were excellent. The brisket was flavorful and tender. The barbecue sauce: perfection. I can't say enough good. After we arrived, we found out that the owner had been on Food Network, but that wasn't what drew is in. She was there, even at lunch, and came out to speak to the customers. We had excellent service. Our drinks never went below the halfway marked. The waitress checked to make sure everything was okay when we got our food and then a few minutes later after we had time to try everything. It was clear that she closely monitored all of her tables. If I lived here, it would be my go-to restaurant.
