Quiet place with good authentic Bavarian style German food. This is a restaurant, not an inn. Every time I'm in Helen, I hit up the Old Bavaria Inn. They are off the beaten path, tucked away down an alley. Their food is delicious and the staff is very friendly.

Absolutely TERRIBLE service!!!!! DO NOT EAT HERE!!!! If I could give this place negative stars I would! My friends and I ate here a couple weeks ago and literally waited and waited. Waited for them to take our order, waited for our food, waited for someone to take our payment. Not to mention the food was terrible. The icing on the cake, they added a 20% tip to our tab and when the hostess finally walked by I asked to speak with the manager, turns out our waitress “is the manager”. So after standing there waiting for yet another 20 minutes, she came over and I asked her is we could negotiate the tip because of the terrible service. Her response, she quickly grabbed everyone’s tab off the table with our form of payment and said she was going to talk with the owner. She literally stood at the register cashing everything out NEVER TALKING TO THE OWNER, came back over and said “ I talked with the owner and we don’t see any issues with your wait time so there is nothing I can do”. Not once did she apologize, she could have cared less! I regret not just walking out after waiting over 35 minutes just for someone to take our payment. Please take your money else where, this restaurant’s customer service is horrible and just plain sad! There are plenty of other wonderful restaurants in the area, don’t make our mistake.

Authentic Bavarian feel walking in. My server Jennifer did an outstanding job recommending different beers to try and what menu items would compliment it. I had a Warstiner Pilsner and ordered the Angus Burgerone word Delicious! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. I will certainly return.

This place is super cute. Located right down an alley way it is a little gem. The food is great everytime I have been. The jagerschnitzel is fantastic & I'm in love with their red cabbage it reminds me of my grandma. Perfect spit for lunch or dinner. Go here when you come to visit Helen.

The atmosphere was great, the food was pretty good. The staff was friendly and helpful. It wasn't the best German food I've had, but pretty high in the list of good German restaurants.

Fantastic place for delicious German fare and cold beer. We celebrated our anniversary and the eclipse there and couldn't have picked a better spot. The decor was quite authentic and cozy. I highly recommend the wiener schnitzel !

The waitress wouldn't even make eye contact with us. We saw her being perfectly friendly to other patrons, but she did everything she could to avoid us. I'm not sure if the fact that we are a mixed family was an issue for her or what else might have caused her to treat us that way, but it felt pretty horrible. This is our second time eating here. There will not be a third.

Our group of 9 was well taken care of. The food was great. The variety of mixed drinks and beer was also great. The old Bavaria inn will be a mandatory stop for us whenever we visit Helen.

The food is really good. Their pretzels are amazing (and huge, don't order for 1 person!). Their Apple strudel is out of this world. If you catch the musician, he's very entertaining and adds to the ambiance and makes it feel more authentic. The beer selection is extensive. This us our favorite in Helen and we always eat here at least once when we come for a weekend.

Had the pork schnitzel sandwich and the Reuben sandwich, both of which were good. Good flavors. Good house beer. Quiet atmosphere. Good music. Here in Helen celebraring our 15th wedding anniversary. Reminds us of some of the quaint places we ate at in southern Germany.

Great service, great atmosphere and great food! The schnitzel with Jager sauce, red cabbage and sauerkraut is delicious as well as the whipped potatoes. Only potential bad note is there are only 3 beers on draft.

Stopped in for a quick bite to eat with my wife. We both had the soup & 1/2 sandwich special. I had the Reuben, Hungarian goulash, and German potato salad. She had the Rachel, Hungarian goulash, and fries. We had enough room to share a dessert -the pretzel pecan bread pudding. All of it was very good and filling. ☺

Been in love with this place for 10 years! Never had bad food, never a bad meal wurst plate (choose type and quantity) with all the goodies add side of spätzle and cucumber salad oh my goodness share it with a friend amazing meal!!! Great service homey atmosphere!!
