Father was taken in after fall. Had broken ribs and pneumonia. Within 19hrs they were advocating DNR and withholding nutrition regardless of his wishes in writing.
Serious sanitation issues. Deification smeared on toilet. Bed pans dirty and reused without cleaning. Sterilization machine out despite numerous days of informing staff. Nurses attending patient without sanitizer.
NG tube inserted I incorrectly. Shoved over 4 inches to far because nurse failed to mark. Also no light when inserting and shoved mucus plug further down throat.
Palliative care and other issues not explained properly. Also misinformed by doctor as to what was being done. And nurses that gathered around central desk to talk instead of desks by patients room. Monitoring of patients was disgraceful and highly dangerous.
As a former health care professional, I was extremely offended and unbelieving of the lack of respect, care and concern shown by the staff.
Spent 3 days there.felt like home. Wonderful patient care and customer service.
This was such a terrible experience. Went to the ER just for stomach pain and was there for 6 hours when they weren't even that busy, it was around 9/10am and so they said nothing was wrong. Never coming again. Diley Medical Center is much better. The doctor and some of the nurses were awesome but a lot of the guy nurses were rude. Also, being a patient you don't have to pay to park so i was trying to get a parking pass not knowing where to get one and some lady that works there says "It's just two dollars". Two dollars i don't want to spend to just park???? This was just terrible. Never again.
I broke my femur a few years ago and the female Dr put me back together. They also tried to find as much wrong with me as they could so they could have more to treat. Good food for a hospital. Sometimes nurses were a little over loaded and backed up.
Best hospital in the city. I have been in this hospital several times in the past year. Everyone on staff from doctors, nurses, patient care aides to the special technicians, food service people, cleaning staff, PT and OT personnel, chaplain services and even staff in the hall who have nothing to do with you -- all treat patients with great respect and care. Something is being done very right at this hospital. You sure don't feel like a number here; you feel like a person who is respected while in their care.
