We had an absolutely amazing birthday dinner at Oak! We mentioned that it was a special birthday celebration and requested a seat in the window upstairs, which is the way to go. So pretty and special. Our table was not quite ready when we arrived, but they greeted us with champagne and we did not have to wait long. The service and food were top notch throughout the night. Very romantic and beautiful atmosphere. If you're looking for old school Charleston charm to celebrate a special occasion, I highly suggest Oak!

In a last minute decision to get a private dining space for a meeting and some steak, The Oak Steakhouse came highly recommended and rightfully so. The service and ambiance were beyond our expectations. The aged steaks were all cooked to perfectly to order. As were the seared scallops and everything else that came to our table. Thank goodness someone else footed the bill though!

Best Steak Ever!!! The 45 day wet aged ribeye is the best steak I've ever eaten, period!! This restaurant has wonderful food and a great atmosphere in a historic old building in downtown Charleston. The service is outstanding and the staff is awesome, couldn't recommend this place more, should be 10 stars!! The wine list is great too!!

Absolutely PHENOMENAL! My husband and I have to say this is hands down the best restaurant we’ve been to in a while. The food ( I had steak and french fried onions and he had some type of crab pasta and baked mac and cheese w/ bacon) was delicious and the service here was AMAZING!

Awesome food and a great dining experience. It is a higher end steak house and I felt under dressed. Prices are high, but you get what you pay for. The Valet parking is a plus anytime you are down town.

My husband and I went here for a last minute late night meal and the service was amazing! This gentleman named Herman (who I believe is the manager) was absolutely amazing. He greeted us from the beginning and continued to make sure we were enjoying ourselves and were being taken care of properly. My husband and I will continue to eat out at this amazing restaurant for our date nights! Also we got the filet mignon and it was seriously the best I've ever had! Amazing service, amazing food and all together just a perfect night out for us!

I made a reservation here for my first wedding anniversary, based on other great reviews I'd read online and proximity to the hotel. Great location and great food! The wait staff were very attentive: they gave us a table that was set off from other diners to give us some privacy, and wrote a very kind note congratulating us on the anniversary. Food and drinks both came quickly and at the appropriate times, and the manager came by the table twice to check on our experience even though the whole restaurant seemed to be full. The cheese plate is offered as either an appetizer or a dessert - whichever one, get it.best I've ever had!

You get what you pay for, and here that's a good thing. The small size of the building make it great for a romantic dinner. The staff are very friendly and the menu is what your would expect for a Charleston steakhouse. I would recommend Oak over Halls just because the atmosphere at oak is so much nicer.

Awesome service and incredible food! We just celebrated my wife's birthday and had an awesome time. Stephen and Shelly were phenomenal, as was the meal. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Charleston.

Great service and excellent selection for a quaint Charleston dinner. Experience was exceptional from the hostess to service and staff checking in on us throughout the meal and the meal itself. Loved everything about it!
