I go here for lunch occasionally rather than for the bar scene.
The pork slap and spicy chicken sandwich are both good. Honestly the pork slap is amazing. I have never had anything quite like it.
The atmosphere is relaxing for lunch. The service is fast. The staff are friendly and offer good suggestions.
No room for improvement. I give them a perfect score for lunch.
Fish and chips were good, but only available as a special. Sizeable pieces of cod, battered and fried in what I usually refer to as the "tube fish" style of fish'n'chips. Fries were tasty, but saltier than I like. Got a flight, 4x 5oz pours for $12, on a fixed flight list. Quite pricey for 20oz of beer you don't get to choose, but I'm not from this area so maybe this fits with typical Charleston pricing.
Food and beers were good, but the billing was a big mess and some guys ended up paying more than they had consumed whole other payed less. We discovered that afterwards, but it shouldn't be a problem nowadays to get a table of 8 persons sorted out. For us it was the last stay, because it ruins the whole evening if you have an endless discussion at the end. Sorry for all the other things which where fine.
Amazing beer selection that is constantly changing. Great food. Awesome servers and bartenders. My default in downtown CHS.
Food was awesome. We ate the veggie burger and the pork sandwich. It is hard to find anything to satisfy the meat eater and veggie head in Charleston but this place does it! Great beer selection and great service.
One of my favorite bars in Charleston. They have the best selection of draft beers in town. The decor is eclectic, keep your eyes open for the dik-dik.
The staff do sometimes forget about you. But get a bigger beer to keep yourself busy until they come back around.
Great beer selection. Great food. Interesting menu.
This place is great! They have so many local beers are tap, staff is very helpful with finding a beer you like, and best fries I've ever had!
The beer selection has something for everyone, but the food was just as amazing. Our first meal in Charleston and it was a great start. The hand cut fries are prepared perfect. Plenty of local beers to choose from.
staff has to get their act together for seasoned diners. I was told harshly that there were no substitutions whatsoever. Need to rename the place " Five Easy Pieces". Such a shame my daughter could not get s regular BLT. My advice, order the chicken BLT and have the staff take the chicken and shove it between their legs.
Weird name for a business IMO but everything else is on point. Great service and awesome lineup of craft beers on tap in a ski-lodge type setting. We didn't try any food but had a bunch of beers and a great time.
Cool atmosphere and excellent food. Try the Pork Slap, it will change your life. Decent beer list.
service was great. food is mediocre. if you like craft beers then you'll love the beer selection. ordered pork skins which were awesome. and the mussels. was surprised the fries were served on top of the mussels. thought they would come on the side. mussels were bland. fries were ok. the broth was a beer broth way to strong for my liking. Prices are decent for King street.
Fun place. Lighting is super dark. Noticed some people needing their flashlight on their phone to see menu. Ordered beers and potato skins(s). Was good, but only one small potato cut into smaller pieces came out for an appetizer.
Service was ok. Friendly but rushed.
Was a good stop for a night downtown.
Great beer selection. Good decor and music was loud enough to jam to the songs but not too loud to talk. Bartenders were attentive. My girlfriend ordered fish and chips and the fish pieces were wonderful but were draped over the fries so the fries became very saugy and inedible. She raved about the tartar sauce. I imagine if the fries were on a separate plate they would be as good as the fish.
I got the fried chicken sandwich and it was tasty but the chicken piece fell short of filling the bun leaving bread "butts". I got a side of twice baked potato and was a little waxy/underdone but had a good taste. I would definitely give them another try but if have similar issues with the food we would just go for beers.
