I don't have any problems with the doctors or nurses but this hospital gouges the insurance companies to no end. I had my gallbladder removed. Didn't even stay at the hospital was in and out the same morning and they charged the insurance company $167,000. Now you know why insurance premiums are so high.
I, Nancy A. Beers, was a patient at your hospital from Aug. 23 to Aug 28th.
Admitted for a total right knee replacement . I received excellent care and would recommend your hospital highly The nurses and all who had me as their patient were kind and so helpful . All the staff couldn't do enough to help me with my care. and were so kind. Thanks to all of you and I am doing well . I know if I ever had to be in the hospital again this would be my 1st choice.
When you have family members staying in the hospital with multiple problems that depend on YOUR care, Doctors ESPECIALLY, and nurses need to respect your patients and show them kindness and tender loving care. With that being said it does not matter what walk of life they come from, your JOB is to care for these people of your community. I'm disgusted. When I finally fill my nursing shoes, I vow to never be like some of these nurses and Dr's here. Review the charts, medical history, listen to your patients and act like you HAVE a heart. Your job isn't to judge, make fun of(like children), condemn etc. your job is to listen and treat. It's truly that simple. Keep your mouths shut and your opinions to yourself. No one is untouchable.
As for the Hospital, I don't know. The person who answered the phone in the Pharmacy was exceptionally rude. I could not finish my question without him talking over me 3 times. I finally had to ask him to please listen to me and still he talked over me. My question would have taken less than a minute but I wasted 7 on the phone with this ignorant, arrogant person who would not listen. We are in Florida from Vermont and need a prescription filled from a doctor at home. It was a simple yes or no question and it's sad their "customer Service" couldn't handle it in a proper way.
Had my baby July 27 which they said was the busiest delivery weekend since they opened and you would never know it. Staff was warm, friendly and never waited for anything. Head nurse of every shift introduced themselves and made sure I was taken care of. I can't remember her name but the woman who helped with my nursing questions was awesome and so helpful. This experience made my last pregnancy and delivery very pleasant.Thank you to all the maternity ward staff 😊
Every staff member we have met has been friendly, caring, and professional. The Emergency Room was well- organized and efficient. Everywhere we have been in the hospital has been clean and tidy. Food is nicely prepared and tasty. All the care received has been excellent. Great care and great people!
EDIT: Lets go back to 3 stars. The emergency room is a mess although there are still some very bright lights. I had a problem with registration and they did nothing until I send a message to the CEO which he apparently never read. Sadly there is a small, barely competent crew running administration and they seem to hold pretty pictures for the CEO so he does not see the shambles they are creating.. I was wounded in the emergency room and Linda Zehall blew it off as she has done before. Many years ago I picked up an infection and they took care of it. No big deal. The puncture in the leg could have been easily handled but apparently if Oak Hill ignores it long enough, it will go away. It has not healed in 2 months. They won't even reply

This is the place to go in Hernando county. The nurses and staff have been awesome. Have I ever had to wait? Yes. Have I ever had bad nurses or rude staff member? Have I ever had a billing fiasco? YES and Yes again but these are very isolated incidents and administration will step in and address the issue, but again these have been rare and isolated
There is no question that any hospital will miss things, make mistakes or have an employee who is having a bad day. Before you rate them badly, take a look at how they handled your issue and what they did to address it
trying to pay my bill online is a troubling exp. some of the boxes are grayed outcan't put more than 3 numerals in for a zip codefinally called the # on the bill ,girl took my info then asked what I wanted. I said I want to pay my bill she then said.."we'll have a representative call you back" and abruptly hung upweird
Very fast in ER very thorough all nurses and dr had good bed side manners took fast and very good care of my wife .She was admitted to the hospital and the whole time she was a patient she was very well taken care of . Thanks to all the nurses and dr who took care of her once again THANK YOU
Worst experience in ER ever. Took our son to the ER as he was complaining of stomach pain. Barely saw nurse or Dr. Was there for over 6 hrs and ended up leaving because they were too incompetent to hook up an IV for contrast for a CT scan. Had to ask for help to get discharged as no one was available. Then two weeks later they bill my insurance company for over $4500 for the worse service ever. This is why insurance rates are so high. These crooks should be ashamed of themselves. DO NOT EVER GO HERE.
My 87 year old mom went in by ambulance, they wanted to admit her and then she's waiting over 7 hours in a freezing cold ER. Never offered her anything to drink or eat. The nurse Becky, was very good and very kind to her, but even when I went to the desk to ask a question, the nurses were talking with each other, and on their phones. I waited 7 minutes for someone to even acknowledge that I was standing there. If I had a choice, I eould have gone to Bayonet point hospital.
