Most awful experience ever. They confused me with another patient and told me I had had a heart attack. (Even though my EKG was fine, Blood work was fine and I had no heart attack symptoms) They gave me blood thinners and admitted me. Only to find out I in fact had two hernias and never had a heart attack. So I wonder what happened to the person that was having the heart attack and was treated for my hernias!! I was in the Er from 10:30 am until after 5pm then admitted. I was switched between three different rooms. No one asked my name or checked my wrist band when taking my blood or handing me medications. I checked myself out at 10pm when they tried to give me more blood thinners after admitting they made a mistake and I in fact had no heart problems and it was a mix up. Horrible hospital. Sitting in the ER listening to the drs and nurses talk about the patients in a derogatory way and just sit there behind the desk while a STROKE code is being called then eventually getting up and slowly walking to the room while sighing and making fun of a lady who just coded and another woman who was stuck on a toilet is beyond comprehensible. These people should not be in health care. They are awful.

My son was taken to the er with chest pain and high blood pressure. They sent him home with ibuprofen still in pain and still high blood pressure. When I questioned why they were releasing him without his blood pressure returning to normal, I was rudely answered by the ER doctor that he doesn't understand my rationale of thinking as my son is18 and they don't just put someone on high blood pressure medication. For which I stated my son is 22 and I wasn't suggesting he do that but that I wasn't comfortable that they were releasing him without any resolution to his symptoms? Would never suggest any one go to this ER or this hospital! And he had ins but I don't think they liked that he told them it was workers comp because the discharge papers came immediately after he told registration this!!!

I went to this hospital with severe pain in my abdomen that I'd dealt with for a week, I also was running a high fever with chills and extreme sweating. I went in at 2 am cause I hadn't slept in days & couldn't take it anymore. I didn't have to wait, they took me straight back cause no one else was there (now I know why). I was given morphine & fluids, the doctor came in and pressed on my stomach and ordered a CT scan. They made me drink the contrast & a couple hours later I did the CT scan. Once that was over, the nurse came back in & asked if I was ready to go home, and handed me a prescription for abdominal pain. I looked at her and asked "so there's nothing wrong with me? I don't have an infection?" She looked at my discharge papers and said uhh no it just says here that the medication is for IBS and constipation. Didn't even answer my question. I just shook my head & took the papers from her cause I was starving & freezing to death, as well as exhausted. I found it hard to believe that I was just constipated due to the amount of pain I was in & the fever. I was only there for 4 hours, so the wait time wasn't the issue. It was the fact that as soon as I told them I didn't have insurance, I felt pushed off and they just wanted me to leave, and didn't want to help me. Then today 15 days later, I get a bill for $25,000. For what? That's about $6000 an hour for the time I was there. And the doctor did nothing, I could have just stayed home and gotten better on my own for free. I've worked harder than they did as a waitress for $2.25 an hour. I understand why the country is struggling now, and why people die every day of simple illnesses. it would cost less to bury me than the hospital bill. I just moved to brooksville 3 months ago, and this hospital is the closest to me. I debated going to oak hill and now I wish I would have. I won't be paying this bill (how could I? That's more than my husband makes in a year) I have the share of cost program and they better pay all of it cause I don't want to give them one red cent. I will never go here again, I'd rather suffer.

I was instructed to admit my mother by 911 to this hospital that she had been discharged from less than 24 hours after she had been discharged by a doctor L. Amarchand MD, for internal bleeding and spending a ten day period in the hospital taking multiple transfusions. She was Dc'd by this doctor Monday at appx. 1730 PM, by Tuesday our home health service came out with an RN and noticed excessive bleeding in my mother from all possible orifices except the ear. The Home Health RN called the Primary care physician and the PCP called Bayfront Brooksville and myself as caregiver and ordered mother to be 911'd to the same hospital she had been dc'd from 24 hours earlier. Bayfront Brooksville not only sent her home in a van, but Dr Amarchand refused to admit her with hemoglobin levels of less than normal. This is because Medicare Rules that if a Medicare (and Military Veteran of 3 wars' wife) is returned to the hospital within 24 hours then the hospital will have to pay themselves. Because they really shouldn't have released her in the first place. If you care for your parents or elders DO NOT SEND THEM TO THIS HOSPITAL. I complained to the nursing director and "Candy" did not give a candy's ass care for my mother, bleeding everywhere, with hemoglobin way below normal (private labs done by RN at home prior to ER visit) AND.They stole her watch and sweater worth over $300.00. DO NOT SEND YOUR ELDERS HERE,

I've been here twice, the first time was in February because I had stomach bug and waited 6days not able to walk move eat or drink anything(no insurance), they ordered ultrasounds and catscans, the person in the room next to me had the flu, and he also was swayed into having catscans and xraysthe u/s lady was rude and seemed put off that she had to do her job, the cat scan guy was really nice though, denissee took care of me really well, after giving me fluids and medicine I felt like a million bucks. Too bad I don't have a million bucks to pay that $30,000 bill
Then I was there this past wk with my son, I believe he had the same thing, enteritis, the er intake nurse was rude, literally complaining about my sick baby crying, denissee came in and handled things much better, they ordered chest xrays, and a catheter and a few other tests, I only agreed to the catheter because I was told the quicker they got his urine the quicker we could leave, and I had to pick my daughter up from school later2hrs later I went to the desk in the er and politely asked if anyone could give me the results bc I was going to be late to get my daughter, the lady snapped at me n told me to go back to the room they'll get to me when they get to meso I left to get my daughter and get some type of food and fluid into my son since he hadn't had anything for 2days
I picked up his records to see what the results were, and they don't state anything, no common cold, flu, or anything on the unnecessary xrays.no reason for a baby to be violently ill? I know you're saying I should've stayed to get the results, and I would have if I didn't have another child that solely depends on me, but what's the point of getting medical records that have no answers?
I bet if u scraped your knee, they'd order xrays. I've never encountered shady doctors n dentists like there are in this small town, always out to get paid, who cares about the person or what's wrong with them
Honestly denissee is the only reason I'm giving this review Any stars. All of the other nurses should take some pointers from her, I'm sure u deal with allot of shady rude patients but not everyone is, maybe find another career or prescribe yourselves some xanax, u can't treat people like $#it, the only reason this hospital is open is because this town doesn't have anything else for miles and miles.
I'm from Sarasota, I'm used to having almost 10 hospitals in a 10mile radius to choose from, they all have pros and cons, but are way better than anything in this area.response / report this review
