Nine Irish Brothers is a nice place. Good service, huge plates of food, decent prices. The only negative about the place is the absurd seating. There are only 5 or 6 tables with regular chairs. The rest all have backless stools. They are back-aching, butt-numbing, wobbly, and uncomfortable.

Nice pub, I chose this place based on reviews as I was traveling through Lafayette. They seemed to work hard to please customers on the reviews and that was correct. I recommend stopping in for a porter or what ever tickles your fancy!

Best Guinness I've ever had. Friendly, fast service. General Manager Austin will have a shot of Jameson with you every visit.

One of my places to eat! Last experience was not the best. For whatever reason waitress brought salads out late. If you know this pub it's cozy, so too many plates not enough room. A salad was dropped from table bc not enough room. The food was amazing, as always just didn't care for waitress (might be new) because she was very slow to serve and salad with main course. Still LOVE the atmosphere and food.

Food was good but on the salty side. The soda bread was amazing! It was kind of dead for a Saturday night. Not the best location, but good for us since we were just passing through.

Was lucky enough to visit on a Sunday and had the prime rib Philly. Son had fish in a bag. Both were great. Service was good. Would definitely return.

Food is good and the service is passable most of the time. (Except on my most recent visit when I only got to see my server twice and had to look all over the place for her to get my check. I finally found her having a great time chatting with people at the bar.) Yes, food portion can be a subjective matter, but I stand by my earlier statement that the fish fillets used to be bigger.
Edit (7/24/17): Nine Irish Brothers contacted me and said they "were able to address the issue with the server." Taking the time to read customer feedback and addressing concerns is appreciated (and is a sign of a well-run business) and deserves another star.response / report this review -

I'm a on the road worker making a stop in layfette. That being said, I've been to quite a few bars across the nation and 9 Irish brothers landed a spot towards the top. Awesome staff, affordable, good eats and live music on the weekends. Also booze. Lots of booze

Do I get bonus points if we came all the way from Canada? ;) A crew with different tastes, somehow an Irish pub can always satisfy everyone so in we came. Self seating, several different table styles, and specials on easy display as you walk in. Lots of traditional beverage options, I LOVE that there's smaller size portions of the menu items available, and the service was excellent. Our server was helpful with questions, offered samples of the beers when we were indecisive, and came to check on us often.

The environment is good and service is hit or miss. I've had excellent experiences and poor experiences. I feel the menu is limited and could be expanded. They also don't offer as many cider options as competitors. Overall it's a good meal if you're looking for some irish cuisine and the owners are wonderful people. As with anything, I feel there could be improvements.

We're from Ohio and ran across the restaurant, saw good reviews so decided to try it out. It was a very good choice. The staff was very friendly, the food was served quickly and was excellent. Portions were large (to go boxes were needed). We really enjoyed our experience. No backs on the chairs/stools which was something to get used to.

My wife and I visited with some friends for the first time recently. It was later in the evening, around 9pm o a Thursday so the restaurant was fairly slow and quiet. There was a small band of old men playing traditional Irish music and that set the mood nicely. The server was a very nice guy and answered any questions we had swiftly. I got the Bangers and Mash and the wife had some chicken stuff (I forget the name). Both dishes were fantastic. The drinks were good too. I had a "Dark Side of the Moon". Yum! Prices were good! Clean bathrooms. Will visit here many more times to come!
