It's a great location with plenty of parking. The lighting of the bay was great. It's also conveniently located off PCH and not too far from the freeway. Lastly, the staff are great.

Way too crowded for someone who prefers peace, quiet, space, and privacy. Nice park, though. Clean, and fairly well maintained. The bay is not the greatest body of water, but it doesn't smell badly. The beach is ok, but I'd rather be on the ocean side. Barely any space between sites; just enough to fit a picnic table, and that's it. I won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend it. But, if you're into crowds, and enjoy having people, their pets, and children all very close by, you may enjoy it.

Went right before Thanksgiving holiday, still lots of people but activities are at a minimum. Beachfront spots were pretty nice, great view of the bay and nice walking path around the bay. I'd imagine this place is very much popular during the summer.

This is row after row of giant RVs with their pop outs almost touching each other. The setting and facilities were quite nice, but there are just too many people packed in too closely. The tenting area was amazingly crowded with the tents nearly touching each other and packed 5-6 tents deep on a narrow beach. However, the people camped there did seem to be having fun. So if this is your kind of camping, go for it!

Very nice facilities, well-kept bathrooms get cleaned 3 times a day, variety of activities, and not all cost extra. Spaces are tight for RVs, so consider a larger space than usual if you want more room. Located walking/biking distance to Balboa Island, Fashion Island and Newport Beach; however, you'll pay for it. Newport Dunes is expensive. The one thing we really don't like is there are no recycling bins at the resort, at all. If you are a recycler, you'll have to take your stuff elsewhere.

I am so happy to have found this gem. The water was calm and warm. Perfect for our toddler and baby. The playground next to the beach is brilliant and the inflatable obstacle looked like so much fun.

Went to Newport Dunes Resort for the Pacific Wine & Food Classic. The event was very fun and well organized. It consisted of many booths in the sand from beverage vendors and great local restaurants overlooking the bay. The staff was helpful and friendly. Overall a great experience.

This place is great. Good atmosphere, good bar, cozy, and clean. My only complaint is when you walk to the lagoon, there are some people who diminish the overall experience. I understand this is a non-private beach, but screaming unsupervised kids are simply unpleasant. The resort area is very peaceful, but the lagoon is a bit too lively for my taste.

Very nice location but packed in like sardines! Barely enough room to open your awning! And we are in a 'premium' space, not a 'standard' one. Holiday weekend so tons of people. Impossible not to hear your neighbors on either side.

Full hookups, but the sewer connection is on the pedestal so it is above ground level! You do not want your sewer house to have to go uphill!!

Lots of activities for kids and lots of kids all over. Great weather and friendly staff.

Our first visit was for a birthday party and we were only able to stay an hour or so, but we lived it! Kids had fun playing on the beach and in the water. The party host had rented a beachfront cottage that was perfect for a small family. Parking was easy and there is a nice wide sidewalk all the way around the bay. Also, lots of free activities for kids and families like tye dying and outdoor movies. We are already planning our next trip.

Beach is like a murky lake and security does nothing about noisy guest after quiet hours. It's getting really low class here a lot of people with little or no respect for others.

Last summer was awesome. sailed our boat almost every Sunday. Restrooms are super sanitary. And security is awsome. Gonna go tomorrow. To stary off summer. Early. Love this spot

Perfect location for paddle boarding, Balboa Island, Back Bay, and Fashion Island. We come back again and again. Get the bay-front sites if you can.
