Good price, rooms need repair in places. Nothing too bad, just small things. Very nice family running the place.

The service is great. The place is beautiful. Everything is kept in good condition and especially the workers and owners are a pleasure to be around. We recommend 10/10

They were our saving grace! My husband & I had been driving all day stuck in traffic trying to get through New Jersey & New York. Needless to say it was very stressful & we drove till 11pm until we found this hotel. When we got there, the front door had a sign on it saying, "Closed from 10pm-7am." However, there was a phone sitting at a table just outside the door which said, "Call for assistance." When we called the extension, a man immediately answered & said he would be right down to help us. I was shocked that they woke up to accommodate us at such a late hour & with such willing attitudes. We were able to get a great night's sleep. The beds were comfortable, the room was clean, there were plenty of towels, & a nice shower. It was everything we needed. There was also a nice light breakfast provided the next morning that lasted until 10am. We were very impressed with the service we received & would stay there again if we were passing by.

The Newbury Inn Hotel was the perfect place for our needs, being on our way to Maine from Virginia. Very friendly staff. I would have no problem recommending it and would look into it first thing should I pass that way again in the future.

Here's the deal: When we cancel a room 2 months in advance, we have the cancellation number, and you still have the gall to charge my credit card, you should fully expect this horrible review.

Seriously: what did you expect to happen? Us to pay? If so, you clearly are delusional. We've already called the credit card company. Enjoy trying to get money from them. I may not be Miss Cleo (RIP), but I can predict exactly how this will end: No payment for you!

Don't make a reservation with these guys, people - they don't even honor their published 24 hour cancellation policy, let alone cancelling 2 months in advance!

My fiance and I were looking for an inexpensive but nice hotel to stay overnight when we were visiting family. On the recommendation of someone, we tried this place. They said that there were renovations done so it was really nice, even if the outside looked a little shabby. I don't know if we just got put in the backup room that no one ever uses but it was awful.

We first arrived and checked in so we took our keys and dropped off our things before leaving immediately after to go meet family. I took note that the place was a little outdated but it would be okay for a night. The jacuzzi tub we paid extra for looked like it had some stains but my fiance assured me the he would clean it for when we returned that night and don't bother the people. I agreed to deal with it and we left.

We returned around 9 pm from dinner and as we walked in and turned on the lights, my fiance noticed a spider lurking in a corner on the ceiling. So he checked the other corners and there were more. With the lights on, we could now see cobwebs. I walked into the jacuzzi tub area and there was a large black (unidentified) bug clinging to the curtain. I was upset and getting more and more angry because we paid good money for this room and it was just a bug infested dump.

I called the front desk to complain about everything from the dirtiness of the room to thr bugs and see if we could get switched to a new room and was told that they were booked. They offered to send someone over to clean the room but I turned them down. It was 9:15 at night by this point and we had driven almost 4 hours to get there that day. The room should have been clean BEFORE we arrived and not when we wanted to get some sleep. The woman on the phone left a moment of silence before asking a pathetically, "well what do you want me to do about it?" I told them that what I really wanted was to get my money back and get out of this hellhole and she just sighed and said fine. If we wanted, she would refund us. So we found another place online and got out.

If you're staying in the area, do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere. Not only were we misled by the pictures of a renovated hotel and "deluxe" complimentary breakfast that we didn't stick around for but did not look promising in a very small sized room, but I was appalled at the lack of customer service and caring about the cleanliness of our room. After spending time in that room just standing still, I felt a huge need to take a shower to clean myself and spent several hours itching afterward because I felt dirty.

No one could ever pay me enough money to ever deal with these unprofessional and awful human beings again.

Warning - I gave 1 star because they didn't have the option for ZERO. The WORST customer service I've ever run into in 57 years of my life. If you think the old rule the customer comes first. Think again with this place. I was there for 10 days and got so mad I checked out. Their key pads are old and worn. Your key works about twice then you have to get a new one. I went to get another key and was told by this RUDE woman she would not let me into my room until I paid her cash. I was shocked - she had my credit card. She said the credit card machine was gone and I needed to go get her 90.85 in cash before she'd let me in the room. I said my pocketbook was in the room. She opened the room so I could get my pocketbook and go to the bank -and she says You bring me back CASH I let you in. Id been in the room all day, ran to my car and couldn't get back in. I called my husband - and we left. What kind of customer service is this? We had planned to stay until our new house is ready. Think about it folks. . They lost over a thousand dollars from us just because a RUDE woman demanding cash wouldn't simply refresh my key card. Not a very smart move over a key card.
