Feels like home, staff are wonderful but like any other place on block island the food and beverages are pricey but well worth the money. Also love the convieniant store inside, they sell cigarettes so if you are a smoker you don't have to leave to grab some same with the gift shops

No air conditioners. And it gets hot. It's noisy and busy. The rooms are small. The water has extreme hardness and you will be rinsing your hands excessively thinking you can't wash off the soap. There are other places around that are cheaper and more comfortable.

Great location on the island, and a very nice view onto the water. Lack of air conditioning is annoying, but it does encourage you to get out in the morning, so in that way it is motivating. All in all would stay again. Block Island is a great place.

Delicious dinner on the deck overlooking the ocean. Drinks were served in plastic cups, which I thought was weird. However, food was delicious. We had buffalo wings, the "endless summer salad", and lobster mac and cheese. All were great. The people at the next table over were from another country and we're asking many questions and the waitress was very helpful to them. All in all, a great dining experience.

We've been to the National several times. This year we picked up 2 high profile clients and brought them to them to the National for late night drinks. Upon arrival, Benny served us 4 beers after about 20 minutes he announced that it was last call. He was extremely rude when we ordered 2 more beers and asked us if it was going to be a problem to get us out of there at 1am when they were closing. Seriously, it was our second beer. He was beyond rude, embarrassing in front of our clients and extremely rude. After he served us the 2 beers, he continued to serve other patrons without verbal abuse. Even making an employee a mudslide about 20 minutes later. When I questioned him about it being last call, he said, well he just got done his shift, oh so there's a difference between paying customers and free?! Benny then offered us another beer. Um, no thank you. You already made it clear that it was last call for paying customers! I have never in my life been so embarrassed to bring clients to a bar, especially on Block Island. Benny didn't know who we were but instead of treating us like tourists or family, he treated us like we were trash. We will NEVER return to the National! Shame on you Benny!!!!

Food is great, and staff are accomodating of substitutions and changes to menu items. Hot lobster roll was delicious. Shops are good, with a variety of island gear.

Had drinks and snacks. Very casual and nice spot. Pretty typically has a crowd. Drinks were reasonable and reasonably priced; not fancy.

Nice, but small rooms. Very easy to get to, and allows you to park your car there. Bar and grill right down stairs. Nice views from the front rooms, but both sides could get a little noisy without a fan to drown out the noise. Nice places to sit for a fire pit, or to look out on the harbor area. No A/C.

The staff were friendly, the area is amazing, and the hotel was clean. I also enjoyed the fire pits outside the hotel as well. The location is amazing, the hotel is close to a lot of shops and restaurants plus a quick walk to the ferry. The restaurant in the hotel was good too. My only complaint is that the room was tiny, fitting 3 people in one room with 2 beds was uncomfortable. However, it was manageable.

This is an amazing place for dinner and drinks. We sat outside to people watch and appreciate the incredible view. We had the fish & chips and cheeseburger. The staff was very friendly and conducted themselves in a very professional. If we needed anything they were right there. While we were there a very large group requested to be sat outside, to accommodate this group the staff had to break down numerous tables and reset. Just as the staff finished resetting, the group decided to go else where. I'm not sure why, but I do not believe it was a timing issue. This task was completed expeditiously. The staff were very professional; they told the group that it was not a problem and wished them a great night. They did not express any animosity or annoyance in front of any the patrons. I understand that people have the right to change thier minds, but to be so insensitive of others is moronic. The staff handled it so well, when we return this restaurant will be first on the list and I would strongly recommend this restaurant to everyone.
