There are many words to describe the food at Bernies, but the first that came to mind was WOW!
The food here is unbelievable and worth every penny. I had the duck with raspberry sauce, and it melted in my mouth.
The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes served and the atmosphere is nice and relaxing.
I highly recommend Bernies if you are in the area.
What a delightful and wholesome meal!
You're doing yourself a disservice if you're in the area and you don't dine here. Wonderful food comes out of the kitchen and theirs is a great wine list.
Family owned and the food is awesome! Great atmosphere too!
Don't be fooled-- in this establisment high prices don't equal great food or for that matter excellent customer service. Food lacks flavor and waitress lacks attention to customers.
We went to this restaurant on July 5th, had reservation for 5 people. On arrival we had to wait a while at the door as no one was there to greet us. We had to sit for a good 10 min before anyone came and offered anything to drink, at this time we were told that they were busy. It was 8 pm, and a lot of patrons were leaving. A while after ordering, young waitress came back and told us that they were out of veal. Out of 5 people at our table, two ordered it. At this point my cousin decided not to order a meal. One of the orders was lamb which was cooked OK but without flavor. An order of escargot and the duck also did not have any flavor.
I was hoping for a nice upscale restaurant in this area, unfortunately I am very dissapointed and will not go back.
We indulged in Shrimp Scampi, which was cooked to perfection. The side of green beans were crispy and delicious. The potatoes were good. We were in the area for only 2 nights, and were disappointed the restaurant was closed on one of the 2 nights. This is not a place to miss. Call ahead to be sure they are open, and reservations are recommended. We had the opportunity to meet Bernie. What a delight she is.
