We always have a good time with the murder mystery tour. I have always taken visiting family to mystery tour for three years in a row now. I must say it is fun when you have great company to go with. Service is fine but we are there more for the show. Keep doing this for Fort Myers!
Train to boat was the best! We went with a large church group and we all were so very pleased. This is the way a railroad should be run. Food served is delicious. If you like prime rib, you are in for a real treat. My wife did the chicken entree and was very pleased.
From the owner (yep, brought tickets for the boat out himself!), engineer, trainmen, bus drivers.. Super! A very special shout out to the staff in the Sanibel car and our waitress at table 1. Just wow. Planning on some under mystery trips now.
Train fan report. F7 and Geep. Just do this. Support the people who keep this very special equipment operating..
Loved it! Good food, lively theater mystery, nice restored train cars. The ride over the river had the sunset on one side and the full moon rising on the other! It was a thoroughly enjoyed evening together.
Honestly it's been at least 15 years ago since I've gone on the Mystery Dinner Train. I went with a group of about 20 people. I personally did not make the reservations but I do not recall any problems. I really enjoyed the experience. From what I remember, the food was good. Nothing fantastic but overall a good meal. I really enjoyed the actors and the service was top notch. I'm currently thinking about an interesting and entertaining place to take a smaller group of people and I think this would be a great place. It's been awhile but I'm sure it will be worth it. Hope to board the train soon!
Well after viewing all the different reviews it looks like the customer service is junk, and the food not so great, and no refunds if something bad was to happen in your life. I love trains and it sucks to live in a place where there is only one to go to but offers the worst service. Plus it looks like I will need to be well over 65 years old to have a good time. It makes me sad there is no place in this town where one can go for a good train ride specially when I have a 5 year old who is in love with trains but will never be able get into this one since all they offer is Murder Mystery. It would be nice if once a year they could do something a bit more family orientated and exiting for the little ones and not just take care of the elderly. I guess I will have to wait till I reach that age where there is nothing else to do then go on a boring train ride.
Great all around experience.
front office staff was very helpful the day before with us on the phone.
check in was easy. parking easy. Considering the train is moving while the kitchen is cooking, The meal was very GOOD. Prime Rib was spot on Med rare, fresh Mashed Potatoes, Fresh green beans (NOT canned) Chic cordon Blue was made on site ( NOT frozen) Wild Rice and Fresh Greens.
Salad was fresh, dressing house made Raz Vin, Potato leak Soup hot, awesome leak flavor, drinks do cost Extra, ( But they don't hide that fact)
Sangria was good. House made Key Lime Pie ( even that was good) though it was made on a sheet pan and not the typical pie shape. We can understand why (after all the kitchen is rolling along with us)
Now The Dinner Mystery,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Great show to watch. Actor's really had fun with the show.Kept you engaged through out the whole trip.
Well DONE
Yes the Dinning cars Are narrow, But these Train cars are a time capsule and back in the day that's how things were done, You got to know your fellow guest's.
Last,,,the deal offered By the Train line with the Hotel room is a good deal.
The Hotel stay was just as restful.
A pleasant way to spend an evening over dinner and drinks. Well a 1930s dining car is pushed by a train through dark and Florida, live actors reenact a murder mystery and you're asked to solve it. Hokey. comedy is Broad stroke, and the whole thing is lots of fun.
Show was awesome, amazing acting. However, my meal was absolutely disgusting. Salad was gross, prime rib was nothing but fat. I only enjoyed the soup.
I took my wife, daughter, and son-in-law. I purchased the tickets months in advance and the person I spoke with when I purchased them was great but hard to get an answer when calling. I am from out of town and was going to find a hotel but she suggested Marriott Courtyard with a special deal so I booked that also. The day of the event my daughter arrived early and got the boarding tickets early so we did not have to wait. We went to the hotel early and rested then arrived at the train at 5:45 PM. The service was as good as it gets and I am impressed how only two waitress handled the entire car. After reading some of the reviews I was surprised at the spacing, not over crowed at all. I am not into plays but it was fine and I could hear what was said fine. The fruit and cheese on the table was fresh and tasty. The first thing served was a diner roll and it surly needs improvement. Then came the soup which was surely homemade and hot. The salad was nothing to brag on. Everyone at our table chose the prime rib and when it was put on our table I knew I could not eat it all, it was big. Then we had coffee and cheese cake. Had to have a doggie bag as there is no way I could eat it all. After the ride we when to the Marriott and had a great nights sleep at a very nice hotel. The next morning the free breakfast that came with the train ride was fantastic. To some up the trip I would have given it a 5 but there is always room for improvement, start with the bread. I would do this trip again in a heartbeat.
It really was a dark and rainy night, which added to the whole "murder mystery". Great service ! Food was hot and tasty. Good liquor prices. I would definitely go again !! The Hotel was beautiful, clean and a very good breakfast the next morning.
My daughter's Crestwell School recommended the Mystery Train. Enjoyable family experience. Our children are ages 11 and 13. We are new to the area and wanted to experience the area.
Sorry the owner didn't believe you
concerning rude and unperfessional people that work there, I tried calling yesterday asking how to book 12 ppl for a surprise birthday event the site goes up to 8 ppl, the person rudely told me " I can't help you to figure out how to book 12 ppl I have a different system then yours " I stated so if you answered the phone and work for the company you should know what your customers are looking at on the internet and be willing to assist. She stated well you just have to figure it out on your own that's not my job. I said wow,. I'm thinkinking and looking for something and some place else to host this event because truly they don't want business or they have so much business that they don't care about there reputation or increase in there revenue. Would love to speak to the owner.
Was such an incredible experience! From food, wait staff, wine selections and seating!! Even restrooms for the amount of people were well kept! I am amazed at the way they kept things going ! 10 stars!!
We take my mom on this train every year. She loves it. It's a little cheesy, but really fun and the food is good.
Was very excited to take this trip with my daughter and actually booked 3 months in advance. As the time approached for our reservation one of our party could not attend so I called to modify our reservation. I tried calling multiple times with no answer on the reservation line, when I finally reached someone and explained my situation they attempted to refund me a smaller amount than I was due and I even confirmed the correct pricing on their website. While explaining this to the employee I was abruptly hung up on. I called back and learned the name of the employee and again tried to correct the situation but again I was treated rudely and even flat out lied to by this employee. I ended up cancelling the reservation completely thinking I would probably just re-book online and avoid the reservation line. I ended up calling the corporate office to discuss my experience and was connected to the owner of the business. At no point did she ask me what happened she simply refused to believe her employee would behave this way. She dismissed my complaints and made it clear she did not value my business. We will not be booking with this company again and I am awaiting a full refund.
