Best butcher shop in Birmingham. The Deli also serves some of the best sandwiches in the city. The whole place has a great mom & pop feel. I recommend it to everyone who is spending time on Birmingham.

This place has history, but it's unpretentious about it. They have a simple goodness about them, and they make a fantastic sandwich. Come in and pick up groceries, a good beer and some of the best packages of bacon-wrapped filet mignon in town. When you are up against the holiday's, this is where you want to buy food for family. Skip Costco and Sams, and buy quality from the best. Banana pudding isn't half bad either.

Fresh, delicious deli sandwiches and butcher shop.great service and wonderful sauces and seasonings to buy. I recommend you stop by for your fresh meat and good lunch stop.

Sandwiches are great but the head guy that runs the back is a jerk. We order the same two sandwiches EVERY time we go there and don't even look at the menus. He made one of the sandwiches wrong when we told them it was the wrong sandwiches he yells to the server "that's what he ordered!!!" We won't go back which is sad since we like their sandwiches so much.

Real hometown customer service. Locally owned, operated, and staffed. I had the cheeseburger, with side of chips. The bun was incredibly soft, the burger and bun piping hot, cheese melted. It was served classic American style, with ketchup and mustard, pickles, onions, etc. They have great sweet tea. The portion was smaller than I was expecting, but it was my first time there.

The sandwich menu is a little hard to work through - its vast, offers limited descriptors or organization, and could benefit from some sections (turkey, beef, "spicy selections" etc; I got overwhelmed and ended up with a burger. I will go back, but recommend you decide what you want before you arrive.

I love the small town look and feel of the place. The butcher shop has my complete trust. I am a vegetarian but I grew up in a house with a trained chef and she taught me about the color of beef and the firmness of the meat. On top of it I am getting compliments for the steaks I am cooking.
The store gets one star deduction for the fact that they don't offer a vegetarian sandwich on the Deli side of the business. If I can grill meat, you can make a nice vegetarian sandwich. Draft beer selection is southern centered including good local brews.
