Had the nerve to insinuate that my g.f was a transient by mentioning an additional "transient" fee! Ugly landscape, horribly overpriced, ride staff and managememy, soiled bed linens, expensive wi-fi, and to make it worse, they completely forgot about my scheduled wake up call! Worst hotel on the peninsula!

First off this lodge does not even deserve one star! I booked this lodge for our final night stay on our honeymoon,and i must say my wife and I could not spend more than 1 hour at this dumpy place. I will begin with the parking situation, lets begin shall wefirst off the lady at the counter was extremely rude,next there was 2 broken down cars next to my spot to park,then we entered the room and noticed the nasty stains on the floor,the mini fridge did not work,and smelled sour,then we checked the cabinets and found old glasses and cups as if someone was living there,the tv was old and small like the early 90's,and the place felt dirty.My wife had fleas jumping on her,and we lifted up the mattress and found bed bugs crawling around not to mention how much we paid for the room which was $149 plus tax of which we were not refunded in any way.We checked out within 1 hour of getting our room keys.Needless to say Do Not stay here if you are expecting more than a filthy motor home stay.This Lodge needs to be shut down,and condemned!The only way I would ever stay here is if I was homeless! You have been warned!

Big rooms, big really comfortable bed, well looked after by the staff, good daily cleaning service with fresh towels. Rooms are dated and could do with a refresh. Kitchenette basic but useful.

The woman at the desk was very sweet, the rooms are large. No air conditioning. Both of the rooms ( our group had 2 one on first floor & one on second floor) smelled like a Chinese restaurant. The bedspread had an odor as well. In the morning when packing up I saw a cockroach on the back of the old stove top in the room I was in. The second room saw a cockroach on the bathroom door. I would NOT recommend staying here.

My girlfriend and I tried staying there for a night and left after an hour because the room was so gross, more like a health hazard.
We found fleas, bedbugs, blood splatter on wall, non working smelling mini fridge, mold all over bathroom, old stained mattresses, and more, the list goes on.
After a flea jumped on my girlfriend we spent a while inspecting the room and taking pictures and decided to leave.
Horrible customer service. Only offered half refund even though we found all these problems and were only in the room about an hour.response / report this review -

Monterey Fireside Lodge is a place not like any other it's not meant to be fancy its meant to be a safe comfortable place and it has a great staff
