One of the best campgrounds in the Catskills. Not to be missed but be sure to book your site early. Lots of hiking and great views.
Camping was a great experience last summer. Dog friendly.
I love mongaup Pond. The wonderful family campground. Then bring them my girls there since they were very small. My girls are now grown adults and we still go back together. A lot of great memories here.
Camping is great there have showers and bathrooms well maintained. No internet access AT ALL!!!!-calls would need to be made via payphone. Nice environment to get away.
No cell service which isn't bad, but also not great if your pets rabies tag doesn't have an expiration date, and land lines are not for camper's use. We had to drive to Livingston Manor to get cell service (about 60 minutes, round trip) to get our local vet to send a fax to the camp office, as we could not use their phone to do the 60 second request.
Loud!!! Motorcycles that must have been Harley's with no real muffling cruising around on the other side of the pond near the 10pm "quiet hour" ruined the ambiance of what should have been a tranquil setting.
Staff said all sites occupied, but that was a lie. We had an empty waterfront site across from us the entire duration of our 2 night stay.
We arrives shortly after 9 and were turned away from our reserved site. The stern gatekeeper proudly told us that she had already refused three other cars this evening for arriving after check in time. Can you microwave smores in a best western? You can, but they don't taste the same.
I gave it three stars because it's the first place I've been to. But I had a relaxing good time. Reserve early it books up!
Beautiful scenery, great place for the family, boating, swimming, bbq, picnic and more!
I go with my family on a cousins trip very year. We've had a lot of fun. The bathroom is clean enough, for a public park. I only give 5 because the life saving vests are old and probably worthless for the boat rentals. Other than that, no complaints.
I love this campground! I have never had a problem with the staff, and me and my family go every single year. The bathrooms are great for a campground, and I love that they have boat rentals every day. I also love that they have the camp store which drives around on an ice cream truck and can offer people a lot of things that you may have forgotten or broken. They saved me one year by having a variety of sandals for sale after mine broke.
It is best to go during the weekday, as it does get a little packed in the weekends. However most people keep to themselves and I have never had a problem.
Great place to go camping with the family.
It's nice, the guy working at the main entrance has no person skills. Told us we had to wait for his lunch to be over to get our rental boats, and said it was supposed to storm if we get struck by lightning it's our own fault.
