This is for the restaurant - spectacular meal. The menu is a multi-course tasting menu with wonderful wine pairings and optional cheese service.

When Michelin guide manages to go South of San Francisco this place will get a star. The food is creative and masterful - with dishes varying with the seasons and what is fresh and available. The service is exquisite and the wine was thoughtfully paired from vineyards you probably haven't heard of but will love with each dish.

To set expectations the space is small but not cramped, parking is not easy and this is not a cheap meal. That said it is a wonderful culinary experience and a great spot to celebrate.

It's quite a nice place, with excellent service. Lacking in some facilities you might want, such as pool and spa facilities. Didn't try the restaurant so can't comment on that. Although valet parking is free, it's a bit of a pain to have to wait for your car, you'd think they could do a deal with city hall next door to use their parking lot.

Great restaurant with a unique menu. Dishes seem small at first but it was actually perfect by the end and I generally eat a lot.

Incredibly beautiful old world hotel, tasting menu restaurant, very private & exclusive, great and friendly service, walking distance from great food, shopping & sightseeing.

    An exceptional experience.

First, the staffwhat can I say?!?! They make you feel like royalty. Which is what you want for such a fine dining experience. It all starts before you arrive, when you get a call asking if there are any dietary restrictions and whatnot. Every single person was extremely friendly, and extremely professional.

Second, the food. Holy $**t it was beyond amazing. I never thought an asparagus dish could blow my mind! I'm really at a loss for words in explaining the culinary delights.

Third, and lastly, the wine. Again, ridiculously amazing. We did the premium pairings. Another delight. The sommelier was extremely knowledgeable about every aspect of the wines that were selected. Also, very interesting selections. Very worldly. Ideal pairings. Totally worth the cost.

Overall, a wonderful experience. My wife and I were blown away.

Charming. Every staff member we came across during our stay was helpful and polite. Our room was very clean (and I am very particular) and we had a hand written note on our bed from the manager, thanking us for choosing L'Auberge. We went out to dinner and returned with fresh oatmeal cookies in our room. (I am a baker and these were delicious). Breakfast in the morning was just the right size. I only wish the pastry had been hot or at least warm when it was served. So I gave the breakfast B-. Would I go again? Absolutely! It is a small boutique hotel which we love and so quiet. Also, you are able to walk to everything. Beach, restaurants, etc.

Stayed at the L'Auberge for two nights and was very happy with the hotel, the facilities and the service of the staff. The hotel is nicely located - not difficult though in a small village - and the entire hotel is run by a nice group of associates who are welcoming and full of friendliness. Food served at the hotel itself is nice and especially the breakfast is enjoyable as it is relaxed, good and offers all you want from a good, home-made breakfast. The Italian Restaurant which is somehow associated with the hotel is less enjoyable so give this one a miss. Overall, a nice small hotel, typical of the Relais & Chateau standards - expensive, but you know what you pay for.
