$20 a person????!!!! Wow, seems high, we pulled in and didn’t pay the $140 it would of cost our family. Instead we did Blowing Rock which was $7 a person and the views were way better. Plus did some nice shopping and didn’t spend all that $$$. We didn’t want to even walk across the bridge, just seems crazy to charge $20 for a view. Hopefully they will consider to reduce this cost as we saw 24 people turn around including us. Very disappointed in NC

I was on my way to South Carolina to meet up with an old friend to view the Big Total Solar Eclipse of 2017. I found myself with some extra time and decided to check out this NC landmark near where my folks used to summer.

Absolutely breathtaking!
$20 a piece to get into the mountain which includes the Swing Bridge, Animal Habitats, and Museum!

Was there with my wife and 7 year old son 20 years ago. ..loved the day we spent therecrossed the swinging bridge and then me and my son went further climbing the 3 small peaks ending on a platform actually in the clouds. Looked around and we were the only ones to attempt thisscared my wife speechless (not always a bad thing ) great memories

Life changing!! I really loved this place!! We drove up the famous winding roads. Great view. Im scared of heights but crossed the bridge and took amazing photos. Fresh air and just breath taking. It was like 35 dollars to drive in, but you got a cd to listen to which was nice to inform you about the mountain and there were other things to do within the park. I would totally recommend!!! Breath taking!!

This has to have been the most beautiful place I've seen thus far. It's been such an awesome experience, I can't wait to go back to capture some more pictures. I went up there with the hope of getting a great background for my business card and came back with the fact that I was able to overcome fear by walking back and forth across the Swinging Bridge. The staff in the Nature Reserve are so amazing I can't explain how awesome you are. So knowledgeable. So experience. They made my day. They made me want to come back. Thank you guys so much.

Didn't realize that it was gonna cost $50+ to take the family up to get a couple of pictureswouldn't have made the 5 hour, out-of-the-way drive if we had known. This listing needs to have a description added that explains these things. Pretty much ruined our afternoon.

Most beautiful view ever! I'm afraid of heights and didn't plan to walk the bridge but was talked into it. Half way I felt a wobble (it IS a swinging bridge) nearly had a mile high anxiety attack but it was absolutely gorgeous!

Fantastic place to hike if you're looking to get in some exercise. If you're taking the kids along, there's a great zoo just around the corner. The Mile High Bridge is strung across a deep but thin gorge. It sways in the wind, so if you have vertigo, this is a no-go! Once you get to the other side, please be careful! There are no fences, and the fall isn't one you'd recover from. Still, beautiful view and a great way to spend the day!

I can't say enough about this place. Not crowded. Lots of sites to see. They give you a CD to put in and listen to as you drive up the mountain. It explains important events, attractions, movies filmed there, and history. The swinging bridge is the highlight!

The $20 admission covers the hiking area, zoos, and museum. Make sure you visit the mountain on a clear day for max visibility, it's a totally different climate when you're that high up! Bring a jacket too as it gets very windy up there. Enjoy the beautiful views at the top once you reach the Mike High Swing Bridge. You have the option of driving up or hiking. Do the hike!
The CD included with our admission provided a good history lesson as we drove up the mountain. We visited the zoo after our hike, loved the black bears area. Check them out during feeding time.response / report this review -

This was fun. The price to get into the park was a bit high, but it's a nice park with lots to do. The bridge is fun. They try an make it sound like you are going to be a mile up in the air. You're not. You're a mile above sea level. Still, you are high up and it is fun standing in a cloud. :P
