On the positive side, the bed was comfortable and the air conditioner worked well. The guys at the front desk were pleasant and did what they could. This poor rating is not their fault.

Here are the negatives of our stay in April, 2018:
    1. Hairs on sheets and pillow cases. I called the front desk to ask for the linens to be changed, but was told that no maid was on the premises. Instead, he gave us the room next door to move in to. It was better, but one in our party still found a few hairs and removed them. We had family also staying at this hotel, and we heard them complaining about hairs in their bed the next morning.
    2. Carpet looked old and dirty.
    3. Shower head was not good.
    4. Very little countertop space in the bathroom.
    5. No coffee pot in room. (Probably my bad for not knowing, but it's still a negative, IMO, for a $79/night hotel not to have coffee in the rooms.)
    6. Went to breakfast at 8 a.m. on Monday morning, and the coffee was just barely warm.
    7. No decaffeinated coffee at all when I went to breakfast. Not even an urn on the counter for decaf. I asked about it, and they said they could make some, but we had to leave and were not able to wait for it to be made.
    8. At 11 at night, while we were trying to sleep, the smoke alarm in our room began chirping every 30 seconds. I took out the battery, but it still chirped. Front desk said no maintenance person was on site. I finally twisted it off the ceiling and disconnected it from the wires. I realize that this just happened by chance because the battery went bad, but if they used alkaline batteries and changed the batteries according to a regular schedule, then this problem could have been prevented. If you just leave the battery to drain all the way before changing it, the chances are about one in three that it will die and start chirping while the guest is trying to sleep. That goes for all the rooms in the hotel.
    9. Although it didn't bother me much, my wife complained of cigarette odor (although a non-smoking room).

If all you're after is a comfy bed and a cold a/c, then you'll be fine at this Microtel. Those are two of the most important aspects of a hotel room. However't recommend this place based on cleanliness and the other things I mentioned above. I have come to expect more from even a budget hotel.

Older hotel from the room decor. Room did not have an extra blanket. Room fairly clean though housekeeping could use improvement. For a quick place to stay close to the San Antonio airport it was acceptable. Not somewhere I would stay long term. Staff was polite but did inquire as to if my stay was satisfactory.

Room was not ready, stained pillows, pillowcases not put on yet, one of the queen beds was inclined towards the middle and we got a really bad backache, no microwave, no fridge, not towels yet, no toilet paper. keep in mind first thing I said was that the room was not ready yet when we got there but still so we needed to ask for towels and paper, but the stained pillows, and the uncomfortable bed are things that call for attention for comfort and hygiene. Also, breakfast had poor choices. Waffles, cereal, oatmeal (plates would melt in microwave when cooking it), yogurt, juice, coffee. No other protein, or hot options, or fruit. Nevertheless, the staff was helpful and polite.

    Always a nice stay.

Clean, affordable. A little small & barebones perhaps - but it’s really everything that you need in a hotel. A really nice option, especially for the price.

Has an HEB within walking distance too, which was a bonus.

Near a lot of area attractions and activities too.

Like anything there's pros and cons, pros-my room was clean, fresh and cold. The pool is clean and its a decent location. The Cons-the 2 bed room I'm in doesn't have a fridge, microwave or bathroom extractor, oh yea and the a.c. filter loold like this. Full of dust. Then this was the tub after I rinsed the filters. Oh and 1 mattress was great and the other horrible.

A/C in the room was too strong. The coffee they provided in the room and in the lobby tasted horrible. Continental breakfast was alright. Guest services were pretty good. Location of the hotel was pretty convenient, located near Whataburger

Can not recommend this one do to the fact they are not Pet FRIENDLY. We have stay at others Microtel and they were pet friendly so if my pet is not welcome I was not welcome

Room was clean. But had a funny odor but not to the point it stayed. Cameras throughout the building which made me feel secure. Breakfast has most items one would eat at that time, but no fresh fruit which was disappointing. Good overall experience for a first time staying at a microtel inn.

Have used MT many times before with no problems, but this weekend was the worst. The room was freezing when we arrived and had to be turned off all night just to warm up. The bathroom door kept getting stuck on the floor and was hard to open/close. The ironing board was missing, but the iron was there on the floor. There were 2 queen beds, when I pulled the sheets down on of the beds, there was green gum with hair stuck on it - it was very disgusting and made my stay uncomfortable. We had to use one bed, which was uncomfortable because the mattress felt beyond old and used and anytime you moved, they made noise. At 3 AM, I was woken up by the people next door blasting music. I had to call the office to complain, which they did notify and it stopped - for about 30 minutes. Maybe it was the first floor rooms, but in all my previous stays here, I have never had any issues.
