My non smoking room smelled like smoke. The hotel seems dirty. Sorry not sorry

Called to make reservation and asked for first floor due to heavy bags. Arrived and were given second floor. There is no elevator and my hands are disabled. Cancelled reservation. I wish they would have advised they did not have an elevator so we did not waste each other's time.

Not pleased at all for 92$ id expect a bit better than this. If i wasnt on a time frame and so tired, too tired to refund the money and find another. Heat/ac is molded, fridge is nasty and so loud we had to unplug it to get any sleep. Doesnt take but a little effort to show you take pride in your business. Never ever will i stay here again. Put a big red X on your map steer clear!

Very rude & racist manager. Bathrooms were not clean at all and the towels smell like cigarette smoke. I traveled cross country in the past 3 months and stayed in maybe 25 hotels and I’ve never been treated so unfair. She made me feel like I was no better then the dirt under her feet. I was told the room will be $65 - $5 dollars with the AAA card, she also said yes to a late check out. Latoya charged me $70, no AAA discount and was charged $20 for late check out. Do yourself a favor and do not stay there. Shame on you Latoya.

My experience was great. I came in and the guy with the beard(I forgot his name) on second shift was so sweet. I had previously had a horrible experience from another hotel the night before resulting in me leaving early with a partial of my money. So I said all that to say that he was very sweet and went above and beyond to make my kids and I Happy. The rooms are great and very clean. They look exactly like the image. So yes I recommend this to travellers.

The room is very small and one of the pillow cases and towels we're dirty. The breakfast is very minimal as well. Great location for things to do though.

Rude staff (sign on the front desk actually says in bold huge writing "STEP AWAY FROM FRONT DESK"). No elevator just a smelly, rubber coated, annoying staircase. BROKEN LOCKS ON ROOM DOOR (MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN) Huge hole in the wall. Closet door is broken. Broken fridge. Broken shower head wobbly unstable toilet. Thin smoke stained countertop in bathroom. Nasty microwave. Drawings on the wall. A lot of cigarette burns. Almost everything is smoked stained! Would not recommend ANYONE staying here unless if it's a last resort. IF YOU HAVE ASTHMA, DO NOT STAY HERE. The air especially on the second floor smells of nothing but smoke. A musky, disgusting, barbecue type smell. It makes breathing difficult. Way to expensive for quality of rooms. Rate of $114. I booked online and paid around $92, personally if it was not on business, I would go home before I would stay ( and that's an over hour drive back). The only good things I have to say about this place is the television is a flat screen with cable. The air conditioner works well. Shockingly the sheets are mostly white. The rooms are not to cramped in space. The windows do open (for fresh air, but the traffic is annoying). The beds seem to be decently comfy. The carpet seems mostly clean but they are a darker colour. They have a drink vending machine ($1 says 20 oz drinks but it actually despenses 12 oz cans). No snack vending machines.

Start out the staff was very friendly. I booked my room with one of those apps, and I had a problem with my booking and the young lady that checked me in was very helpful resolving my issue. Once stepping into my non-smoking room, I was overwhelmed by a very strong odor of mildew. I checked the room and otherwise, it seemed very clean. I was given a can of Febreze and the smell was vanquished. I watched a little TV and took a shower. I noticed some mold along the top edge of the bath enclosure, so I cut my shower short and went to bed. The room was pretty much what I guess I expect for the money spent, which was under $60. There was a complimentary breakfast with cereals, pastries, fruits and a waffle maker. Since I'm not reimbursed for a hotel by my employer, I usually sleep on the cheap when I travel for work. I'd probably stay here again.

Typical experience for a Microtel. The rooms are clean enough and affordable. I don't expect much and Microtel always delivers. The staff at this location was always friendly, professional, and efficient. The housekeeping and front desk staff do an excellent job.

WORST HOTEL IN TUSCALOOSA/COTTONDALE
I don't have the time or patience to write down everything about this place but here is a quick rundown
$20 early check in fee(even if you're 30 minutes early)
No elevators-granted-it's only two stories-but NO ELEVATOR
NO POOL
Smoking rooms located at center stairs-entire hallway reeks of cigarette/cigar smoke
Lock on doors where you swipe key are antique-looks like a 2 year old could pick/jimmy it
The lock on the inside of the door was broken/busted off
Our attempt to stay here was June 24th 2017-temp outside was 87 degrees-when we entered room for the first time-AC WAS COMPLETELY OFF-not on low-no fan-no nothing-OFF
Pillow case had blood stains on it
Mattress/Lounger by the window had a huge wet/greasy stain on it
Phone didn't work and was from maybe 1986/87
3 guests in our room and only 2 towels in bathroom
Looks like they attempted to remodel room-just paint-and that was even a horrible job
There was a "welcoming crew" outside at the front lobby doors-3 Mexicans sitting around their car with a twelve pack on the hood and drinking/hanging out while they stared at everyone who walked in the front door-they were there from 6pm till we left at 12:30AM
Also a "welcoming crew" on the side stairs-3 Mexican children riding their bikes in the parking lot with their mom watching them.
FIRE ALARMS went off from 11pm till we left at 12:30AM not sure if/when they ever stopped going off.
Tried to get a refund the following Monday and was told "We didn't have any alarms going off Saturday night/Sunday morning.
IF YOU HAVE KIDS OR ARE USED TO STAYING IN AT LEAST A HALF DECENT PLACE--DO NOT STAY HERE--IT IS AWFUL
They are currently remodeling the front lobby-and it looks like it will be nice when they are done but DON'T LET THAT FOOL YOU-IT'S HORRIBLEresponse / report this review
