A decent option for Pittsburgh area residents I don't have any feedback on buying a vehicle off the lot since we placed an order and had it built. My comments/feedback are based on what I observed while buying my vehicle on a typical Saturday. The physical building is showing its age. The sales, service and parts departments are in desperate need of a physical overhaul. Compared to other area dealers their facilities are sub-par at best. Horrible 90's music piped through an outdated 70v PA system, the usual stale popcorn and 'blah coffee'. Sadly, leadership is clearly pushing the old school "four square" sales technique, and as usual the F&I guys are the best salesmen on the floor. If you're bringing your young children with you be aware that there is no "family" waiting area. The kids zone consist of two small chairs in the middle of the sales floor with a single dingy play table. If you can afford to, leave the little ones at home as this is a recipe for disaster I have yet to have my vehicle in for service but the fact that they called me and tried to schedule an oil change outside of the factory recommended period tells me what I need to know. Bottom line you can do worse - but I have yet to find a "5" star FCA dealer in Pittsburgh.
The sales team at Jim Shorkey went out of their way to give me a good experience after a bad one I had 2 weeks prior with them. Tristan (My Salesman) is above and beyond what professionalism should be. A fellow vet and all around nice guy. I appreciate what they have done for me and will not forget it. And to Mike (Sales Manager) and Michael (GM) I want to give a big thanks.
This review is about our salesperson, Dan Shorkey. It is because of our experience with him, that we chose to finally make the decision for a new Chrysler Pacifica at this dealership rather than another. Dan is a very knowledgeable young salesman who started as a mechanic and now is in sales. He offers the benefit of knowing the cars inside and out. But what we most liked about our experience with Dan is that he impressed us with his genuine, straight forward manner as well as his commitment to do all he could to get to the terms that would work for us. He also made sure that he was personally available upon delivery of the vehicle to go over all the features of the car so that we understood the car before leaving the lot.
Dan obviously cares about the reputation of the dealership but he also cares about the experience of the consumer. He understands the two are intertwined. We highly recommend Dan Shorkeysee him when you are looking for your next car!
A couple weeks ago, I bought a new car from Trisha Hample at Jim Shorkey in Pittsburgh. We negotiated back and forth over the phone for about a week and, after the deal was made, I waited until Saturday and then drove over from Canton, OH.
Throughout the process, Trisha was communicating with me via text and phone and, in both mediums, she was very professional. Still, I didn't know what I was going to encounter once I got there. It's a 2-hour drive for me so I kept worrying that once I got there they would try to renegotiate the price of my trade-ins or try to change the terms in some way.
None of that ever happened. I've purchased a lot of different cars and motorcycles throughout my life and (I have to say) this was one of the easiest. Trisha was great but so was the dealership. I left feeling like I truly got the better end of the deal. I still can't believe the deal we made.
I've driven or rode away feeling good about vehicle purchases before but never like this one. Both Trisha and her dealership were professional, speedy, reputable and fair. I would definitely do business with Trisha again.
Big selection of vehicles and the staff is very helpful. Jordan sold me my new Jeep Cherokee and was very helpful and patient during the whole process. I went in not thinking I was going to be able to get out of my lease and have a huge payment but the whole staff worked with me and got me the payment I wanted on the vehicle I liked. Would definitely recommend anyone to go there and get a new vehicle.
Had an excellent first time buying experience from this dealership. Steve laudenburg is the best and most helpful there! No phony gimmicks and straight up honesty in the buying process. I would recommend anyone to go here, their team is top notch!
This is our first experience with Jim Shorkey N Hills and overall it has been a positive one. Trisha Hample welcomed us and either answered our questions (we had lots of them) or found out who/where to direct us. She was fairly thorough in explanations on the vehicle systems yet allowed us to freely explore. We appreciated her efforts.
One less-than-positive aspect of our experience was that Trisha had no authority, and therefore had to act as a go-between throughout the process. The first 'manager' who intervened was less than helpful. He gave us numbers, added some confusing conditions on rebate eligibility and that was that. We left. After receiving a call from another manager who hoped to earn our business, we returned to the dealership a few days later. Trisha was once again helpful, and we left with the vehicle we wanted and a deal we were satisfied to have made. Thank you Trisha and best of everything.
Excellent customer service. Made us feel comfortable and welcome. Didn't feel pushed or rushed at all. Will definitely go back next time we're in the market for a new car. Justin and James were great to work with.
My husband and I recently purchased a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Touring L Plus minivan. We had seen this car online and decided that this was the car that we wanted . From the moment that we arrived at the dealership, our salesman, John Barbour, was friendly and informative. We told him the exact vehicle we were interested in purchasing. John was able to take us directly to it on the lot without any problem. We were able to agree to a final price on our new car in a timely manner with a payment that we were pleased with. The entire staff was respectful of us and our time. It was probably one of the easiest times I have ever had in purchasing a new car. We chose to leave the car there to have a final detail and picked it up at our convenience a few days later. John spent approximately 1 & 1/2 to 2 hours introducing me to all of the features on our fantastic new car. We are thrilled with our car and our experience at Jim Shirley ! Thank you
Mike Cornell is the salesman you should ask for when you go there. He got me a great car for a good price. Himself and Greg, a manager, made the process smooth and were willing to make a deal to get me in a new car.
The only problem I had was that it was so busy, I had to wait a little extra time because of one of their finance guys had to leave for an emergency, which is understandable.
I recommend if you are shopping around for a vehicle you should consider stopping in and see what they have to offer.
Had a wonderful experience talking with Mike Cornell about purchasing my first car. He was very understanding of my situation as a young adult, I felt very comfortable working with someone who can relate to being a young adult. I'd encourage stopping by Jim Shorkey as they have a great selection of cars and treat their potential customers with respect.
I went to Jim Shorkey looking to purchase a new 2017 Challenger GT and was met with what I can only describe as the worst sales experience of my life. So bad in fact, that I never bought the car and will never return. The salesman was fantastic. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for the sales manager. I fully intended on purchasing the vehicle until I was told that they wouldn't give me a price for the car unless I agreed to take it home that very day. I fully intended on returning in a few days after I got the finances taken care of on my end. They however refused to so much as give me a price until the time of purchase, even though I told them that the price dictated whether I would be returning. It concluded with the sales manager arguing with me and ignorantly telling me that their dealership clearly wasn't a good fit for me. It was at this point I left more frustrated than I've ever been in my entire life. All I wanted was the price of the car. My advice: if you're looking to be treated respectfully and like a valued customer, look at literally any other dodge dealer in the Pittsburgh area. Even 1 star is too generous, but they don't let you post negative stars. Real score: -10/10
Jordan Reynolds was awesome. He was very courteous and listened to our demands in what we wanted in our Jeep renegade. Jordan made our car buying experience easy and painless. I would recommend any of our friends/family to go to Jim Shorkey's in the North hills and ask for Jordan Reynolds. We will definitely purchase another vehicle from Jordan Reynolds as we know we will be in and out of the dealership fast with a new car. Thanks again Jordan!!
Well, this is by far the best dealerships I've been to. Everyone is extremely friendly and there is absolutely no stress involved in getting a car. Tristan Ramsey is the sales person I have worked with. He is amazing and I would recommend him to anyone Everyone there wore smiles that made you feel good. They all go out of their way from drinks, popcorn, to freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, which I have to admit were very good. All I can say is AMAZING !!!
I haven't recently spent 3 different nights at the McKnight road location, working on leasing a truck for my husband. I can not explain how incredible Ryan and the entire sales and leasing department were. Nice is an understatement. They remembered us every time we walked in the door, and we're really considerate of our budget. They did everything they could to get us what we wanted, and I am happy to say, because of them, my husband drove to work today in a brand new 2017 doge ram! Thank you Jim Shorkey! It really is a great day!
