This place is a hidden gem. I've been driving by this place for a long time and never noticed it. Great menu options and the food is prepared quickly. The wait staff is very friendly. If you are looking for a good spot for lunch, this is the place. There was no wait.

Good food. Good atmosphere. Lots of fun to be had at this place. You can even bring your dog outside and they'll give a doggie bowl and some treats.

The food is excellent. The menu is very creative. When I saw shrimp and grits on a Mexican menu I was not sure about it but I had to try it and it was some of the best I have ever had the Mexican flare they added to this traditional southern dish was delicious. Service is awesome too. We have been here a few times food and service consistently great!!

I just had the tofu enchiladas and they were amazing. I already like tofu but I have never had it prepared like this! I thought it was cheese for a split second because the texture was so firm. Absolutely loved it!

Found this restaurant on Scoutmob and my husband and I were not disappointed. We sat at the bar on a busy Saturday night and the bartender was awesome! Food and drinks were both great! I even enjoyed the house margarita, which I rarely do because they seem to be syrupy. The interior was dim and great for date night. My only complaint was the additional charges, tax, and gratuity added when you use a Scoutmob deal.

Great place, pet friendly. The staff is great, the food is much more unique that what you find at typical Mexican restaurants. And they were so playful with my puppy.

Truly an outstanding restaurant. House margaritas made with lime juice hand squeezed, no mixers; so smooth. Both salsas were outstanding (a traditional tomato based, fresh cilantro one and a tomatillo and maybe avocado based one). The menu had so many options in every category - and you know a restaurant knows what they're doing when even they take time to curate their salad menu.

I ended up choosing the special last night, recommended by the waiter, and it was excellently seasoned pulled chicken with a variety of veggies in a poblano pepper with a creamy smoked tomato sauce. So tasty, I couldn't stop eating it.

This is similar to most Mexican in the sense that some menu items will look familiar, yet totally different in the execution, quality, and unique spins on classic dishes and flavors. 5 stars, and I can't wait to go back as soon as I can.

Service is great. Food is not that great at all. Very bland for a Mexican place

I used to think I hated tequila. This place changed my mind. There is always a special, so there are usually reasonably priced drinks, especially for how good they are. I got some chicken tacos, and they were amazing. I have also had a few other offerings, and I can honestly say I've never had anything here I did not like. The staff is full of high energy, wonderful people! Best of all, the patio area is dog-friendly, and they'll even offer a meat and rice bowl for your pups. Overall 11/10 will definitely go again.

The atmosphere of this place is great. The food can be amazing, it can also be very average, but I have never received bad food. What isn't average is the variety of dishes and the specials they have. I was shocked to see someone give this place one star but that person's other reviews pretty much gave insight . more into the reviewer's limitations as a consumer than a reflection on the establishments they reviewed.

Food was bland and overpriced. They charge for chips and salsa. Service was not at all good. The place was not busy, yet we waited forever for our food and forever for our bill. Definitely will not be coming back and I don't recommend it. This is the kinda place that has no good qualities as a restaurant - just a cool-looking place in a gentrified neighborhood to attract hipsters.

Mezcalito's is my absolute favorite neighborhood Mexican restaurant. The patio is big and the food is delicious. I always get the cheese enchiladas with tomatillo sauce and they never disappoint. The customer service is also excellent--I've only had one negative experience in about 100, and the management response was fantastic. Also, we've strolled in right before closing on several occasions, and they always invite us in and never make us feel bad or rushed for coming in at the last minute. Mezcalito's is a hidden Grant Park gem!

The atmosphere was absolutely phenomenal!! The location was easy to find with ample parking. The food was reasonably priced, properly portioned, and tasted great. We had a margarita that was truly enjoyable. Dave, our server, was excellent with respect to all aspects of our first experience with Mezcalito's. My wife and I can't wait to go back again.
