We live far away, but defiantly worth it. Great service as well as food!

Food was good but the service sucked.
I came here to celebrate successfully defending my PhD - so needless to say it was a special night. We had reserved a large table off in a private nook area and were told that it was free all night, so it wouldn't be a problem if we arrived early, which we did. From the time that we sat down to the time that we left, the waiter continually made us feel like a burden. You would have thought we were uninvited guests in his home expecting him to feed us.
Maybe this was an anomaly, or they were upset that we came early - in which case I would suggest they communicate that to the customers or lose the attitude, instead of passive aggressive behavior - either way I won't be back.
The food was good, but is wasn't anything that you couldn't find at another Italian restaurant around town. If you're looking for some really good Italian food, I would suggest La Grotta. I was debating between these two restaurants for my celebratory dinner and I now wish I would have chosen La Grotta, or really any other place. Lessoned learned.response / report this review -

I found this place based on the "oh so great reviews," only to be terribly disappointed. We were not even greeted and was taken as being in the way. Nevertheless, we stayed to be seated only after the manager rolled his eyes because we didn't have reservations. After seeing someone else come after us and getting attended to first, that was the last straw after feeling unwelcomed with others staring at us trying to figure out why we were there. After deciding not to spend my hard earned money there, I don't think I will be returning to this side of town anytime soon.

Came here because my Atlanta staple, Alfredo's, had closed. At first I thought this place would be a great substitute, because at the beginning it reminded me a lot of Alfredo's. The food did as well, it was very authentic and well-presented. However, as the night progressed and we started waiting on entrees to come out, service all but stopped. Our glasses were not refilled, no more bread, nothing. A large group of people came in around this time and our waiter gave all of his attention to them, I suppose because he was expecting a large tip. A different staff member brought out the rest of our food and another brought our desserts, we didn't see our waiter until he came to get the check. We were waiting on our ice to melt for something to drink halfway through the meal. Would recommend for the authentic Italian food, however the service did not match the food.

The food was great, the atmosphere cozy, but the waiter a total ass. He looked pissed when he walked up to the table, pissed when you asked a question, pissed when you asked for more water. Then when we finished, he never checked back and after sitting 15 minutes waiting for our check, I finally asked if he could please bring the check. He turned and said, under his breath, "When I have a chance, I've got other things to do" and walked off. I got the owner's attention and asked him for the check and asked what the waiter's problem was. He simply gave a half hearted apology and brought us the check. Truly sad. Didn't ruin the night, but was our daughter's birthday dinner and she wanted to go there. People like this waiter can ruin your business. If you hate your job, quit and find something else. Especially if you're dealing with the public. I don't think I'd go back.

Excellent food. I don't remember the name of what I had, but the waiter suggested it and it was delicious! My husband had the Spaghetti with homemade meatballs and it was wonderful as well. The meatballs were huge! Great service our waiter was friendly and chatted with us everytime he came by. Definitely recommend.

This family owned restaurant serves true Italian dishes. The food reminded me of those I tasted while visiting Italy.

It is not just food, but memories. My wife and I have been reading the for over 30 years. The good, service, and atmosphere never waivers.

Solid 4-star Italian food for the Bay Area. They're relatively inexpensive for delicious food if you're hunting around the city for some good stuff. Pillow-y gnocchi and Bologna sauce deserve a mention. It wasn't phenomenal, but the food was tasty, flavorful and hot. Our service was great too, but there wasn't anything that stood out as totally incredible. Music was a little off - it felt like the team had left the top 40 on accidentally and serenaded a lot of dates with it.

Haven't been here in years and we decided to go. We were early enough to get a table but it filled up fast! Delicious clams, lasagna and chicken pamesan. Oldest Italian restaurant in Atlanta for good reason!
