Thai star was my first introduction to Thai food and I've absolutely fell in love. It's been here at least 10 years because that's how long I've been eating here. The place looks upscale but not with upscale prices and the food is always delicious. Try the coconut soup!
The food is very good, worth the price. The place is quiet, nice and clean. Their Thai tea is fine, not very excellent. The roasted duck with curry sauce is amazing. Their seafoods are cooked just right, not overdone.
Our go-to Thai place. Great food and service. It is an attractive and quiet place for lunch or dinner.
holy cow. I've passed this place all the time in the last 12 or so years. This was my first time trying it and I'm disappointed in myself for not trying it sooner.
The prices are a few cents more than tin drum and the portion left me satisfied. Everything on the menu sounded good but went with beef drunken noodles. I also got a small coconut soup (not pictured) that was amazing.
Service was great, they never let my drink get too far below the halfway point. I recommend this place. I'm so excited to come back.
I have been here in Atlanta on business for a week. I guess I was having an Asian kick this week because I've already had Chinese and hibachi take out, both were the worst I've ever had, anywhere. I read the reviews for this place, stopped by on the way to the hotel and the two ladies that took my to-go order were very friendly and my food was ready in 5 minutes. I ordered the red curry and drunken noodles both with chicken. The food was EXCELLENT. I have plenty left over for tomorrow thankfully, but I ate until I couldn't move. I'm picky about Thai and very rarely find a good restaurant traveling. The only one back home is on par with bad Chinese take out. So glad I stopped there, I finally got something worth eating this week.
Thai Star is my favorite restaurant! The food is delicious and full of flavor and the ingredients are fresh. The staff is friendly and the service is quick. I have never had a negative experience here. I have paid double the price at other Thai restaurants for food that was half as good. If you eat here you will not have regrets!
We visit here often (close to weekly) for work lunches and sometimes on the weekends. This place will NEVER disappoint. I've tried almost every major dish on the menu. The spring rolls are awesome, the coconut soup may possibly be the best soup I've ever had. I often get the Basil Fried Rice, Pad-Thai. Drunken Noodles or the Chili Cashew Nut. I've had them all with all the different meats and none of them are bad. The portions are huge and sometimes I consider taking some home but instead engorge myself. If you haven't been you need to get there soon.
I have been going to this restaurant since 1999. My signature dish is Pang. I rate all Thai restaurants based on their Pang sauce. Thai Star restaurant has many other dishes which are quite good, but my measure is Pang (Duck, Beef, Chicken, Green or Red). Up until last year I did not think that there was a better Pang sauce in all of Atlanta GA than Thai Star. But the Pang sauce there has changed. Now it is more loose and has less favor. I thought it was just a bad day, but over a 6 month period I've had the Pang dish at least 3 times. Please go back to the old Pang this is what got us there and made the extra drive there worth while. Don't just taste like everyone else. Love the deep fried spring rolls and Plum sauce.
this is some of the best food I have ever had. food had great flavor and great portions. this place has the best customer service , treats customers like family. extremely clean and kid and family friendly . I love it and will be coming back a lot.
I eat here at least every other week. Its so good i always get the cashew chicken!! they are very friendly and are always right on top of it, i cant even get to the bottom of my water glass and she already is filling me up. Food is always amazing and you don't have to wait long for your order to be out to your table!! love this place and highly recommend.
Always wonderful food. In the past 15 years I've eaten there at least 2 to 3 times a week. Yes, I'm not married. But the wonderful ladies do a WONDERFUL job Windy, Rachel and all the employees of Thai Star are wonderful!
Also if anybody that comes and does not understand that the ladies do not speak perfect English and if you Clearly explain what you want it will be done correctly. And if your Looking FOR FREE FOOD this is not the place it's a family run company and not a fast food or corporate owned place where you can get free food.
With the few negative reviews I read it just goes to show you can't please everyone and then there are the special pains in the ass that are never happy. To those people I would say stay the hell home then and cook for yourself. Bottom line is this place has great food and you can take that from someone that lived in Thailand and has been visiting there for 38 years / since I was 18. The food is authentic so there's no Chinese guy in the back trying to cook Thai food like so many Chinese restaurants in GA do. The service is fine and the staff are always doing their best even though they get slammed for lunch nearly every day. That right there tells you something about the food if the locals have made it a regular stop for them.
