Horrible apartments. Since I have lived here for the past 6 months my A/C has stopped working 5 times. Manager is rude when it comes to getting A/C FIXED. They only make it a priority if it 85 degrees or more for them to come out .
Great place with friendly people.
My wife and I will not be renewing our lease here. This week there were some vehicle break-ins at the apartment complex. Apparently the door of the garage has been broken for well over thirty days and was completely removed allowing anyone to drive in and out even if they don't live in the building. Rather than immediately letting tenants know what was happening and keeping us up to date about what was going on management was silent about the matter up until these crimes occurred.only Then was there a notice posted regarding the unsecure garage. What a shame. This situation has been very poorly handled. We should have been notified right away. That would have been the professional and courteous thing to do. Meanwhile, we're still being charged $75.00 per month to park in the garage.
Overall the building is pretty nice, the staff are friendly and the maintenance workers are excellent. The property manager isn't good at all though. This situation is a clear reflection of that. Consider other apartments in the area where your safety would be better consideredespecially if you have young children as we do.
I LOVE living here! The location is great and the staff are wonderful. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. I have submitted a few small maintenance request, nothing high priority, and the response has been impressively quick. Things are usually attended to within a matter of hours. The residents are also lovely. It feels like a nice, safe community. This week is resident appreciation week. I have been blown away. There are events every day of the week, like omelet stations on Saturday for brunch, and wine and cheese night is coming up. I am very happy to live here.
We've lived here for over 2 years, and I have nothing but nice things to say about the building. Great location, crazy-prompt service and very attentive staff!
We've only been here a few months, but this is a very nice apartment complex. The management has been very helpful and the building itself is clean and well-maintained. Our apartment is great--new(ish) appliances, clean carpeting, and no problems with AC, lights, cable, etc. The street out front, Holland Lane, isn't too busy, though it still gets its fair share of trucks. But the soundproofing in these apartments is great. As long as you have the windows closed you can barely hear the traffic outside, and we never hear our neighbors through the walls. The apartment doors are a bit thin and we can always hear any conversations/noises in the hallway, but those are pretty rare anyway.
Across the street is a small park and the Alexandria cemetery, so there's lots of greenery nearby and very quiet neighbors. For those who are very safety-minded, the Alexandria Police dept. station is just down the street and around a corner. We see at least one police car drive by our window probably every half hour or so.
Even better than the apartment itself is the location! Easy walking distance to King St. (or take the free shuttle from the King St. metro stop to downtown) and the metro itself is only a 5 or 7 minute walk away. There are plenty of restaurants in the Carlyle area and shopping is close by (via car) if you just hop on Rte. 1 South or take Duke St. West. Additionally, Rte. 7 is nearby and the beltway is extremely close.
For those who really like paying too much for their food, there's a Whole Foods in easy walking distance. Otherwise, there's a Giant Foods and a Harris Teeter about 2 miles west on Duke St.
