big theater, lots of screens with lots of showtimes. employees are helpful enough. seats are comfortable. they show only the popular movies so indie stuff is unlikely to be showing. the seats are pretty comfortable. the theater itself is often too big seating too many so if its a popular film you might be stick off to the side or too close to the screen. sometimes the volume is too high or the projector out of focus.
I don't necessarily like to post negative reviews, and I've been here enough other times with a positive experience that I really hesitate to give the rating I just did. However, last night's experience was the worst experience I've ever had at a movie theater! There was nobody around to help, I waited in line at the concession stand for an hour to get from where I started the line to the checkout counter. While the line was long, the people were really slow. When I was a half an hour in to the line, I called customer service and spoke with Stephanie. She told me there was nothing they could do because they were understaffed and that nobody was there that night because I had all just worked the previous 4 days. I get it if you're short-staffed, but it's your job if you know people are hosting events and you have tickets sold to have enough people to staff your concession stands so someone doesn't have to wait one hour to get a bucket of popcorn and a water bottle. Otherwise I love Megaplex Theaters and have had a positive experience almost every time. The last night's experience was enough to make me never go back to the Jordan Commons location.
Plenty of food options. Theatres are clean, though the lobby areas could use a little more attention. The staff at the snack stand tonight, killed it - fast, friendly, thorough. The rewards program is easy to use (when we remember to redeem the points). Used the restroom, and it was clean. Good sign, saw a staff person wash up after using the restroom.
These are our favorite theaters. Always do a fine job of layering the butter on the popcorn. People are always very friendly. This past weekend when we saw ‘Murder on the Orient Express’ we sat in the luxury recliners and when we arrived the seats were dirty and sticky. We cleaned them up. Also, a handful of the recliners were not operational and were covered with white seat covers and the seat cover was filthy with what looked like chocolate smeared on its Just a heads up for management. Next time we go we’ll sit in the same seats and delete this review if the seats are clean. Outside of that we have always been very pleased. Great theaters, great people, great popcorn. Highly recommended.
This is my favorite Megaplex, hands down. In the same building that Jordan High School used to be in, Larry H. Miller really transformed what used to be classrooms and such into a phenomenal theater. The interior is very cool and unique. The food options are incomparable. The theaters are frequently updated, using all the latest technology (reclining chairs, etc.). The staff is also very hands on and optimistic. I prefer this Megaplex over the one at the District which is technically closer to my house. I will drive a farther distance just to come to this location. It's great. I highly recommend this theater!
We have come here for years and it has always been our favorite, but now Jordan Commons Megaplex is run-down, stinky and obsolete. I took my daughter to see the My Little Pony Movie and it was a sad and awful experience.
First off, in auditorium 8, the front speakers behind the screen we’re blown obviously broken. It sounded like the characters were speaking in a tin can and sometimes I could not even understand them. When I reported it, the employee I spoke with (very obviously disgruntled and unhappy just like every person they employ) made it rather clear that they were aware of the issue, they know the speakers are broken but they are selling tickets to the auditorium anyways.
Second, the auditorium smelled like an unclean public bathroom. I’m worried my clothes are going to retain the smell.
Third, the seats are terrible. Not only are they outdated, they are breaking. The overall experience is despicable and it is very obvious that management is not investing single dime into maintaining or improving this once beloved theater.
Going forward, I’m going to pay the same price and go to the century theater with the recliner seats, clean air, and a working sound system. Don’t go to Jordan Commons unless they shutdown and do a full scale renovation.
I like the Jordan commons a lot the theaters are clean. The lobby has an excellent ambience. Staff has always been very helpful and they have good options. While I prefer recliner theaters I am always more then happy to go to a movie here
Great reclining seats with restaurants that you can conveniently take your food in to the movie. The restaurants don't have the best of food. Do not advise the pizza house restaurant the pizzas are more mini microwaveable pizzas but the experience was amazing.
Been going here for many years now to catch Great movies!! I always get the best service and they have always had a friendly and outstanding staff! Always great selections on movies as well as amazing snacks and treats to go with the movies you may see. I definitely prefer the IMAX if you want to really enjoy the movie with a HUGE SCREEN!! But all and all always amazing movies and great service! Definitely recommend this place to catch a movie, big building and huge variety.
The theater itself is a great theater. Comfortable chairs, clean, large screens and the sound isn't too loud or too soft. The only down side, and why I didn't give it 5 stars, is the food is just ok. There are some good options, but I think there could be so much more. I think there is a great opportunity to really capitalize on the idea, but it falls a bit short with the food.
We received tickets for a private event to see Wonder Women. The time printed on the ticket was 7, so we got to the theater around 6:45 to find that the movie had already started and was about 30min in. We promptly went to the ticket office to see what could be done about the situation. While I understood that they were free tickets so they couldn't just exchange them, they weren't even willing to give us a discount on different tickets or anything. They were very unhelpful and my husband and I will not see any more movies at this location.
This is our usual movie spot, despite one other theater being somewhat closer. Always somewhere to park even if it's a bit of a walk on super crowded weekends. This place is super popular so sometimes it's crowded despite it's hugeness, but the lines still move super fast and the place is still kept clean due to the friendly and attentive staff. As others mention, there's ample food places and you are allowed to take your dinner into the theaters with you, so the fact that the theaters are never "sticky floored" or dirty is a testament to how the staff is on the ball. The seats are always comfortable no matter which theater you are in, and there are choices of every way to see a film, from 3D to Imax to "regular", but never a bad audio or viewing experience no matter what you choose. You can choose the "regular" experience you would get for the price of a movie in any other theater in town and still feel as if it was an upgrade. Or you can choose several "luxury" type options that cost a bit more, up to and including the VIP theater. There are plenty of clean bathrooms, and despite what another reviewer said, many are available outside the "ticket areas" so there will be no problem if you arrive extra early to have your dinner before the movie instead of inside, or linger for dessert after you finish. There are also plenty of monitors scattered around the area showing upcoming movie trailers and the like, so if you are waiting for your movie to start you have something to do whether you are eating or not. The Tuesday discount night is a great way to get the full price night movie experience for the cheapo matinee price. It's a great deal for families especially. We've never had a bad experience with this theater.
This has been my favorite movie theater ever since it opened. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. I love the open setting the concourse provides, it's a lot of fun. The Megaplex Rewards program is really great. With all that said, the best thing about Megaplex is their $5 Tuesday promotion.
The only complaint I have is the number of advertisements the theater has posted everywhere. Though, if that's how they're providing $5 Tuesday, I wouldn't want them to change it. :-D
This is a great theater with lots of screens, lots of dining options, and lots of options for how you watch the film. You can get recliner seats, large format screens, or even a VIP theater where they take your order and bring you dinner while you watch a movie. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The reserved seating available at this theater has made watching movies so much nicer! I love watching films in this theater.
These movie theatres are excellent. They're old, but they keep improving them so they seem new. I really like the centralized design where you can order food and hang out before they collect your tickets. The shops around it are great, like Joes Crab Shack. The hamburgers and burritos are usually good. I've seen a lot of good movies here.
