Who's have thought this place would turn into a club at 11pm on a Friday. Stopped in for a quick drink on a Friday night after walking back from a show to our nearby hotel and the place was packed. We were hoping for a quiet place to have a nightcap This definitely was not it.
The bartenders were nice enough. Eventually they brought around tube shots. That was the only table service we got though. I'm assuming their kitchen must close around 10pm.response / report this review -

Nice old fashion Irish bar with a nice menu. Appetizers ,dinner or just drinks along with plenty of televisions to view your favorite team. Nice staff, restaurant and restrooms very clean. Music by the bar is not to loud crowd nice. Plenty of happy hour specials. They have some burgers of gigantic proportions, try the one in between a grilled cheese sandwich. I did not have it but soon Will. Great appetizers

Went for a Michigan game. Had fun. Amazing steak. But then one of the bouncers (not the great big guy; the shorter one) was a complete jerk after I came out. A real bully. Won't come here again.

Was at the bar tonight. Was going well until I went to close my tab. First off they told me there was a $20 Minimum for credit card (that is illegal) so I tried to give them a debit card (no minimum allowed by law) and they told me no. Also, they tried to add $15 to the bill so that I met the minimum amount. So if you go here and there are a lot of reasons to go and not to go just watch your bill and pay in cash. this is a sketchy place so watch yourself. Also, their DJ thinks that Alcoholism is cool so there is that too. He will call everyone Alcoholics at least 3 times a night (I think it is a pro trump bar).

I came to McFadden's with my coworkers for Happy Hour and one of the bartenders recommended that I try their new drink, the Mint Cucumber Cooler. I did and it was great. Not only did it taste good, but it was strong and looked super cool. The bartenders were attentive and welcoming and the food and drinks were delicious. Overall a fantastic experience.

Overall a very nice and large bar perfect for sports games, but it's NYC the bar BETTER look nice. I sat at te bar the waitresses were nice and attentive, but all three beers I tried were WARM, overpriced and wen I got an $11 delirium, it was only half of a goblet and warm. Te girls were cute and attentive 2 stars for them

Despite being downtown NY, this pub had that "local watering hole" type feeling that they like to portray on television. You could tell it was full of regulars! Plus, there was a firefighter and a police officer at the bar, so I felt liked I walked on to a sitcom set!

I was with a party of nine women. The food was barely passable, even for a pub. They refused to give us separate bills. They refused to subdivide the bill. They refused to help us calculate our individual portions. The server couldn't even tell me the state tax rate and suggested that we divide the total by nine. So we were left guessing. I was the second last person to pay (half our group had left) and was told that I owed $60 for my $12 wings. I hope the automatic 20% tip was worth the feedback. And by the way, your muscled kitchen boy didn't intimidate us.

I came here to watch the Cubs win the world series and had a great time. They had lots of TVs, ample seating, and $3 Bud Light. We had some chicken tenders which were not great but not horrible either. Service was a bit slow at first, they only had one bartender, but picked up when another one came. I wouldn't hesitate to come back to watch sports, especially when every other bar is slammed.

It's a nice space with friendly and attentive staff, and they host events and play things on TV on demand, and there are lots of TVs. The food and drinks leave a lot to be desired, however. The Moscow mule was weak and watery and too sweet and not flavorful; I didn't really taste ginger at all, and I'm not sure there was lime juice, possibly just a lot of lime pieces.it was in a copper mug, but I'd have preferred taste to form. The chicken and waffles were okay, but the chicken was dry and the syrup was watery and tasted funny, and I'd have preferred it served on the side so the waffles would have been not soggy. The frying job was decent and the chicken was plentiful. They have specials.
There's no bike parking outside, although there's one signpost right outside that works for a bike.response / report this review
