Great park, great location for taking pictures.

Plenty of events during the year. Summer events include outdoor movies and during the winter the ice skating rink is opened usually.

Mix of different people from all likes. Rich, poor, tourists, locals, etc..all together.

This park is what defines New York's diversity.

Love this park in summer for it's summer screenings. Yes, they have a huge screen set up for weekly movies. While the movies aren't the best, the whole experience of lying down on a green well-maintained lawn in the middle of a concrete jungle and looking at the stars while you pretend to watch a movie on a huge screen, is satiating!

There's a carousel for kids and lots of seating for adults. Apart from the wide lawn, there's plenty of seating around it, with chairs and tables. Picking up halal cart food from 53rd and 6th, walking to this park and conveniently dining here is an interesting plan, if you're into cart food. There's also an open air lounge withing the park premises called South West Porch, which is pretty decent. Steer clear from the restrooms though. They are left at the mercy of the tourists!

Of all the parks in NYC, this one has the most going on. The summer film festival, the ice skating rink in the winter, the reading room provided by the NYPL, the putting green, chess players, the list goes on. It's definitely one of my favorite parks.
