My first time here. Great red chile! Authentic New Mexico style cuisine. You must try their specialty cake. It usually sells out but I was lucky to get the last piece. Yummy! The place is a bit dated, but it's worth the trip to try it out.

I love their food it's so good and just has a very amazing flavor. I started eating here when I was young and in middle schoool when Mary and Tito ran the place and my grandpa knew them. They have amazing sopa/turnovers and the best red chili ever. I ate here in mid school and I'm still eating here in my 40 ties. It is so great it's always been family owned and operated and still is, and has amazing service to.

My favorite local New Mexican restaurant. Their red Chile is the best in town on my opinion. I love that it is a small family owned restaurant that has been at this location for a long time and the staff is great.

Just an overall great place. The menu isn't "busy" with 500 different items as other tourist restaurants, just a couple pages with just the main things that they do very well. Try the stuffed sopapilla. It fills the plate. You won't need any sides!

Cute, old school restaurant. It completely reversed my previous opinion about new Mexican food from my last visit to Albuquerque. The carne adovada was spectacularly tasty.

This place is the epitome of a “hole in the wall Ma and Pa shop.”
The food is amazing and if you come during lunch, you will most likely have to wait because of how busy it gets. It is delicious every time and reasonably priced. If you haven’t been here, I recommend getting enchiladas or Mexican turnovers!response / report this review -

It's a small, hole-in-the-wall kind of place with limited parking, and when it's busy it can get a little hectic. But the family here is outstanding, and the food is even better. It's cooked by a guy that has worked there almost 30 years, and the quality shows. They take it very seriously, and I can't imagine a thing on the menu that isn't made without quality in mind. Their only dessert is a scratch-made cake that is nearly perfect in my opinion. One of the best places in ABQ. Don't miss out!

Great place if you are looking for great red sauce. The red here is pure and simple like what I'm used to from southern NM and unlike much of the strange, taco-seasoning-like, or cumin-abused stuff I find in Albuquerque. The green is the plain-green-chile-heated-up stuff. Nothing wrong with that but not the savory gravy-like sauces I prefer. You can get the red or green with or without meat. I heavily prefer without -- even on a meat dish. The salsa, however, is not good at all (-1 star for that). Edible, but not good. Fairly pickle-relish-ish. Adding a ton of salt helps a tiny bit. Due to the lack of added value from the salsa, this will likely be one of my go-to take-out places. The portions are small but the prices are also very fair, so expect to order a side or another dish if you are a big eater. El Bruno (5 miles north) is another stop for fabulous red sauce, with bigger portions and good salsa, but you'll also pay a much higher price for it.

Try their food. It is so yummy. Especially the red chili. Their service is fast. All the workers are sweet. You'd get to know them like us. They sure do know what we always want. We love this place and I'm sure you'll love it too. 😊

The food was great and came out super fast. I got the special without knowing what it was and was not disappointed. Great value, friendly service, and a very local vibe (My car was the only one in the lot with out of state plates which is usually a good sign )

Great local place to eat. Appreciate the small touches they add. Kind of a South of the border diner vibe. Food was good, hot and fast service. The waiter was helpful and kind.
